Weight Loss Breakfast Healthy Tasty & Convenient Oatmeal

Ready to multitask? Here’s a way to create something better than store-bought, cut calories, save money, and make something tasty to eat! Here is an easy way to steadily drop some pounds scale back your serving size at breakfast. Eat less than 100 calories of un-sugared instant oatmeal, jazzed up with various toppings.

Rather than shelling out for the over-processed, run-of-the-mill options at the grocery store, make it better by doing it yourself. Here’s a SwansonVitamins.com shopping list for this easy, healthy DIY meal:

Pour ¼ cup McCann's Quick Cooking Irish Oatmeal (100% whole grain and only 75 calories!) and approximately 1/8 tsp of salt (0 calories) into a baggie or other storage container*.

For a thicker, heartier oatmeal, puree some extra oats in a blender, about ¼ cup at a time. You’ll end up with oatmeal powder. Add a tablespoon to each serving.

To cook, start with a half cup milk or water. You can adjust up or down depending on your consistency preference. Combine milk or water with dry mix and microwave for 2 minutes, stopping once to stir. (Alternately, boil liquid and add to dry mix.) Let stand for a minute or two, then enjoy!

Flavorful additions:

Raisins, Dates & Walnuts

Apples & Cinnamon

Peanut Butter & Honey

As for saving money, it won’t be like you won the lottery, but over time, you will see a cost savings by buying your own ingredients … which are bound to be tastier than prepackaged, with a lot more variety to boot.

Consider using an eco-friendly storage product when making your healthy weight loss breakfast.
