Health Thru Nutrition's Capsanthin Healthy Vision Support features CapsiClear™. Derived from Capsicum annuum (chili pepper), capsanthin is a naturally occurring carotenoid that has been studied for its role in maintaining visual function and supporting macular pigment levels. CapsiClear capsanthin extract has been clinically studied for its involvement in maintaining macular pigment optical density (MPOD) and its role in the body's natural response to blue-light exposure. Recent research has explored how capsanthin contributes to visual performance and macular pigment levels. Macular pigment optical density (MPOD) plays a role in how the eye responds to bright light, such as sunlight or digital screens. A 12-week human clinical study at the University of North Texas examined the effects of 40 mg of CapsiClear on MPOD and photostress recovery. Subjects taking CapsiClear demonstrated measurable changes in visual response time when exposed to bright light, compared to the placebo group.¹
