Swanson Glycine delivers 500 mg of this important amino acid per serving. Glycine is one of the three foundational amino acids—along with arginine and methionine—that the body uses to manufacture creatine, which in turn supports muscle growth and protein synthesis, and enhances energy production and cognitive function. Supplementing with glycine helps supply your body with the materials it needs to promote creatine production.
The simplest amino acid, glycine is found in the protein of all life forms, glycine is of major importance in the synthesis of proteins, peptides, purines, nucleic acids and other amino acids. As a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, glycine is involved in motor control and sensory perception. Glycine may also function as a novel antioxidant.
