What Makes Swanson Ultra® Albion® Chelated Multi-Mineral Glycinate Unique?
Swanson Albion® Chelated Multi-Mineral with Iron goes beyond basic mineral supplementation by pairing Albion chelated minerals with a blend of supportive whole-food and specialty ingredients. In addition to essential major and trace minerals, our formula includes horsetail extract, a natural source of silica that complements bone and connective tissue nutrition; chlorella, a nutrient-dense green superfood that provides naturally occurring phytonutrients and trace nutrients; and a blend of digestive enzymes, including bromelain and papain, to support digestion and nutrient utilization. Together, these ingredients create a more comprehensive nutritional formula designed to support whole-body wellness.
What Makes Chelated Mineral Glycinates So Superior? First we need to understand the chelation process. Chelation is the result of minerals becoming chemically bound to amino acids in a very specific manner. Chelation occurs during the digestive process to facilitate transport of minerals across the intestinal wall so that they may be utilized throughout the body. Amino acids are not the only "chelators" available, but they are ideal for minerals. The body is very efficient at absorbing individual amino acids, and Albion has identified the amino acid glycine as the preferred molecule for creating organic chelated minerals. Glycine is readily identified and absorbed across the intestinal wall, and Albion's glycinate chelates are actually small enough to transport right into the cells themselves!

FAQ
- What Do Minerals Do in the Body?
Minerals are essential nutrients that support hundreds of biological processes throughout the body. They play important roles in bone health, muscle function, nerve signaling, fluid balance, energy metabolism, immune function, and the production of enzymes and hormones necessary for overall health. - What Is the Difference Between Major Minerals and Trace Minerals?
Major minerals, such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus, are required in larger amounts to support functions like bone strength, muscle contraction, and fluid balance. Trace minerals, including zinc, selenium, copper, and chromium, are needed in smaller amounts but are equally important for supporting immune health, antioxidant defenses, metabolism, and other essential biological processes. - What Is Albion®?
Albion® is a trusted leader in mineral nutrition known for developing amino acid chelated minerals. Albion minerals are designed to help protect minerals as they pass through the digestive tract, supporting absorption and utilization by the body. Their science-based chelation technology is used in a wide range of premium mineral supplements to provide high-quality, bioavailable mineral nutrition. - Who Should Not Take a Mineral Supplement That Contains Iron?
Iron is an essential nutrient, but it may not be appropriate for everyone. Individuals with conditions associated with excess iron storage, such as hemochromatosis, or those who have been advised by a healthcare professional to limit iron intake should avoid iron-containing supplements unless directed otherwise. Men, postmenopausal women, and others who do not require supplemental iron should consult a healthcare professional before use. - Is Swanson Albion® Multi-Mineral with Iron Suitable for Special Diets?
Swanson Albion® Multi-Mineral with Iron is made with non-GMO ingredients. However, it is not suitable for vegetarian or vegan diets and is not certified gluten free. Customers with specific dietary preferences or sensitivities should review the product label carefully before use.
