While research has identified many bioactive constituents in Wormwood, the most exciting is artemisinin, which is found in the leaves of the plant. While this amount varies with each batch, the dried leaves have been found to typically contain around 1% artemisinin.
In addition, Artemisia annua also contains a varied nutritional profile with the presence of amino acids, vitamins and minerals and essential elements for health and may contain secondary metabolites such as monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes and phenolic compounds, which provide antioxidant support.
