Native to North America, slippery elm (Ulmus rubra) is a species of elm tree with a long history of use in herbal medicine. Its red inner bark contains a sticky mixture of sugars, called mucilage, that becomes a slick gel when coming in contact with water. This thick substance is thought to be responsible for the herb's soothing properties. Part of the True Herbs product line, Solaray Slippery Elm bark provides 400 mg of the whole bark to ensure you get the maximum nutrition and benefit from the plant. Like all Solaray products, Slippery Elm is lab verified for potency, purity, and identity.
