Swanson's Glutathione Precursor Complex combines the three amino acids that make up glutathione (a tri-peptide combo of glutamate, cysteine and glycine) along with supporting nutrients for optimum absorption and utilization. For those over 45, and certainly those over 60, a glutathione boosting program may be beneficial, as it is critical to overall health and no one is immune to the production declines that come with age. To help support positive energy and optimal physical fitness, Glutathione Precursor Complex features the following key ingredients: Setria® glutathione, glutathione in its reduced form for optimum bioavailability; pure amino acids, N-acetyl-L-cysteine and AjiPure pharmaceutical-grade L-glutamine; TMG for glutathione synthesis; vitamin C to boost glutathione in red blood cells; alpha lipoic acid to help support glutathione's antioxidant potential; standardized milk thistle, one of the most potent liver nourishers available; and acetyl L-carnitine, which aids in the uptake of glutathione and may support its activity.
More About Glutathione:
Known as the "Master Antioxidant," glutathione is the body's most important intracellular antioxidant. It works inside the cells, quenching the free radicals that are formed through normal cellular processes. Without glutathione, we would be quickly overcome by free radicals. And in addition to its antioxidant properties, glutathione is a master detoxifier. It's particularly important within the organs that are responsible for cleansing our bodies, especially the liver and kidneys, but also the lungs and intestines. Glutathione is also important to the immune system. It's essential to the production and replication of white blood cells known as lymphocytes, and it's particularly vital to the activity of specific lymphocytes called "natural killer" or NK cells.
