Product Description
  • Vital nutrition for bone health and teeth
  • Albion-chelated calcium ensures rapid uptake
  • Patented mineral glycinate chelated form for optimum absorption potential

Calcium is vital for strong bones and teeth, but if your body doesn't absorb it well, you'll miss out on the full benefits. Albion chelated calcium ensures rapid uptake of this vital mineral. The Albion process binds calcium to specific amino acids to achieve the highest possible absorption potential. For more information on Albion products, see www.albionminerals.com.

What Makes Chelated Mineral Glycinates So Superior? First we need to understand the chelation process. Chelation is the result of minerals becoming chemically bound to amino acids in a very specific manner. Chelation occurs during the digestive process to facilitate transport of minerals across the intestinal wall so that they may be utilized throughout the body. Amino acids are not the only "chelators" available, but they are ideal for minerals. The body is very efficient at absorbing individual amino acids, and Albion has identified the amino acid glycine as the preferred molecule for creating organic chelated minerals. Glycine is readily identified and absorbed across the intestinal wall, and Albion's glycinate chelates are actually small enough to transport right into the cells themselves!

high quality and price but inconvenient

I do not doubt the quality. Albion is one of the most well-known producers of chelated minerals in the world. It's good that Swanson uses ingredients from Albion, and is offering it at a reasonable price. The disadvantage is that Swanson't hasn't created one pill that contains all the 4 main nutrients for bone health: magnesium, calcium, vitamin D and vitamin K2. A competitor had created one, which I'm using. The disadvantage of this competitor's product (each tablet contains 300mg of calcium, 150mg of magnesium, 250 IU of vitamin D and 25 mcg of K2) is its size: the tablet is too big.I think it'd be a good idea for Swanson to produce a 4-in-1 like the above-describe in a smaller capsule size. The capsule size of this magnesium product is OK. It should contain around half the amounts in each capsule: 150mg of Albion chelated calcium, 75mg of Albion chelated magnesium, 125 IU of vitamin D3 and 12.5 to 25 mcg of K2 (natural or synthetic). Around 4 capsules of such a 4-in-1 per day would be a good idea for many who wish to obtain important bone nutrition. What most people can't obtain through typical bone supplements is vitamin K2, which is an important bone nutrition. Such a 4-in-1 would fill in the gap.

Best Calcium

From the text Adaptogens in Medical Herbalism by Donald R. Yance I found some extraordinarily good advice with regard to, among other things, calcium and magnesium supplements. My internet search eventually brought me to Swanson, whose products I have never before used, and in so doing seemed to have struck pay dirt.ALBION CHELATED CALCIUM! Nothing out there to compare and at a very good price. This is the calcium to use.I am happy as a lark to have found it and at Swanson.
