Lipoic acid is an antioxidant that supports healthy glucose levels. Alpha-lipoic acid consists of two different forms (isomers) that have vastly different properties. The "R" form occurs naturally in the body and is the component that is responsible for lipoic acid's ability to fight free radicals.
