Turmeric
I wanted to try turmeric supplements -- there are cheaper ones out there, but I decided to stick with a brand I trust (and Swanson, of course). As a previous reviewer noted, you do have to buy the bioperine separately, but it's cheap. My only small complaint about this product is that the pills are fairly large -- most of the time it's not an issue for me, but if you have difficulty swallowing pills it's something to consider. Also, do follow the manufacturer's recommendation and take with food to reduce the risk of any (minor) stomach upset.Turmeric is great
I have been using this for only a short period of time but can attest to its wonderful properties. I think for many who are in need of a supplement to assist them in gaining a healthier lifestyle this is one product that is essential.I prefer this tablet formulation
Most turmeric extract is powder in capsules, and occasionally that causes an unpleasant burp of yellow powder! These tablets don't have that problem. While not the absolute best mg/dollar value, I don't think there is much evidence that a bigger dose would do much more good, you just need to take some every day, so this is an excellent value when computed as tablet/dollar. One downside is that these tablets don't have bioperine as many of the other turmeric extracts do. I just take the separate bioperine capsules that Swanson sells. It still comes out as a better value, since that bioperine helps me absorb Swanson's low-cost CoQ10 and other supplements, as well. With turmeric's long history in Ayurvedic medicine, as well as the many modern scientific studies supporting its positive effects, I consider turmeric extract to be one of the most indispensable supplements.
