Question: I often see Siberian ginseng recommended by authorities such as Dr. Weil. Is it really any better than American or Korean ginseng? I don't see it listed by Swanson Health Products.

We offer Siberian ginseng by its botanical name "eleuthero root," as it is technically not part of the ginseng family. You can locate the supplements online by entering “eleuthero” in the “item #/keyword” search field and clicking the Search button. I can share a brief anecdotal endorsement for eleuthero with you from the days when I worked in our Swanson retail store. During the year 1996 the Harlem Globetrotters were in town and one of the players visited our store. He impressively towered way above the top shelf of our displays, and as I bent my neck at a 90-degree angle to gain eye contact, I asked how I could be of assistance. He anxiously remarked that he hoped we carried “Siberian ginseng.” He forgot his bottle at home and claimed that he could not play without it, as it gave him the needed endurance and energy to perform for the crowds.
