What is Niacinamide?
Vitamins and Supplements Q&A • March 7, 2025

Question: What is niacinamide?

Also known as nicotinamide, niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 (niacin). You may also find vitamin B3 in forms like nicotinate and nicotinic acid. In high doses, these forms can cause a "flushing" sensation in many individuals. Niacinamide reduces this effect. Vitamin B3 is a popular dietary supplement used to support healthy cholesterol and blood sugar levels, aid digestion and support metabolic function.
