test-What is Konjac Root Fiber?
What is Konjac Root Fiber?
Ben H. • May 17, 2011

Konjac root fiber, or just konjac root, is a soluble fiber. It is one of the best soluble fibers because it can absorb up to 100 times its weight in water, making it a premier bulk-forming agent. You might be more familiar with the konjac root fiber supplement known as Glucomannan better. In general, glucomannan may help promote a larger, bulkier stool that passes through the colon more easily and requires less pressure—and subsequently less straining—to expel. More specifically, it may also support blood sugar levels already within the normal range, as well as promoting healthy cholesterol levels, also already within the normal range. The combined action of konjac root fiber helps promote cardiovascular health, digestive health and overall wellness.

Konjac fiber is also used by some to help promote a healthy weight loss or weight management program, combining glucomannan supplements with a healthy diet and exercise routine. Read what one Swanson Health Products customer had to say in her product review:

"I investigated a diet supplement that cost $50 a month and found out this was the only real ingredient.....I've been on it for almost a month and it really works good to control appetite and increase bulk in bowels. I love it! 2 about 30 min before a meal and you'll be satisfied with a lot less food. No reason to get ripped off with some over hyped diet pill. Plus, Glucomannan is the #1 rated appetite suppresant."
