Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice orange flavor. After research, this seemed a good quality D3 with K2. I do not like to swallow capsules, etc. unless it is my only choice. I like this sublingual. Apparently, the benefits of Vitamin D3 is greatly enhanced by K2. I have had more energy since I added this to my regime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small, But Powerful! Finally I've found a wonderful Vitamin D product that everyone in my family will take. As well as it's pleasant taste & easy to chew tablet, it also has the addition of Vitamin K for those who love their skin. We all take one every morning. Although the price is a bit steep for such a small bottle, the end result of a healthy family is worth the money! Thanks Swanson's!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Twinlab Vitamin D3 1000 + K2 Dots Use this every morning, but use the Swanson brand 1,000 IU D3 capsules every evening. My Vitamin D levels are always good in my blood work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It is So So I recently purchased this for my daughter, as I was happy to see the combo of vitamins. The taste was not what I had expected, since we purchased other "orange tasting" vitamins. This tasted somewhat like a tangerine, but I did not like the chalky aftertaste. I wouldn't even give this to my child as I know that she would have spit it out. I would not recommend for picky children, but it is okay for adults.

Q: Why are some vitamin D products measured in IU while others are in mcg?

Due to changes in FDA labeling guidelines, vitamin D amounts must now be listed in micrograms (mcg) on supplement facts and nutrition labels instead of international units (IU). Although these new guidelines were issued in 2016, updates weren't required until June 2020.

At Swanson, we began updating our labels in early 2017. You will see a mixture of both IU and mcg as our national brand partners complete this process.

Q: Did my vitamin D supplement change?

A: You may have noticed a change in the daily value percentage on your favorite vitamin D product, but that doesn't mean your product changed. The FDA increased the recommended daily intake (RDA) of vitamin D, which means the same product with the same ingredient amounts fulfills a lower percentage of the RDA than it prior to the change.

Q: How much vitamin D do I need each day?

In 2016, the Food and Nutrition Board increased the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) of vitamin D for most adults from 10 mcg (400 IU) to 15 mcg (600 IU) per day, and 20 mcg (800 IU) for ages 70+.

Some doctors and nutritionists recommend higher daily vitamin D intakes, especially for those at risk for having low levels. The Vitamin D Council, an organization dedicated to raising awareness about vitamin D, recommends average adults supplement with 125 mcg (5,000 IU) of vitamin D daily. Talk with your doctor about your individual needs.
