After luck with jojoba and castor oils, I decided to learn about other oils I could add to my beauty regime.

Many beauty products now feature avocado oil, but why not just go right for the source?

Avocado fruit first came from trees in the regions of Mexico and Central America. Now it is cultivated in different parts of the world. This bright green oil is squeezed from the fruit, and it features a high nutritional content.

Avocado oil delivers protection against free radical damage. It also features oleic acid, which supports healthy glucose levels. Avocado oil also supports vision and cardiovascular health when ingested via supplements.

Avocado oil remains the same consistency unlike coconut oil, which may solidify. The bright green oil features a nutty taste and the aroma of freshly cut avocados.

1Face and skin moisturizer

Avocado oil features vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps hydrate and moisturize the skin. It also features fatty acids, phytosterols and other nutrients. You can also mix avocado oil into a lotion or moisturizer you already use.

2Makeup remover

Pour a little avocado oil on a cotton round and gently swipe across your eye area. Rub in any leftover residue for added moisture.

Avocado oil can be used as a mask or deep conditioner to soften and add shine to hair. It features biotin, which also helps strengthen hair, and it leaves no greasy residue. It is lighter than some other oils, so it absorbs into hair follicles more quickly.

Mix avocado with other ingredients for different masks to moisturize, hydrate and replenish.
