    Pick up a bag of Bob's Red Mill Organic Whole Grain Buckwheat Flour if for no other reason than to try out the delicious, hearty pancake and waffle recipes on the back of the bag. Bob's buckwheat flour is ground whole grain buckwheat and nothing else. The pyramid-shaped kernels are harvested and ground into surprisingly rich flour with little black specks that come from the ground seed hull. This is how traditional buckwheat flour has been made for hundreds of years. You can add a little buckwheat flour to almost any recipe that calls for regular flour. In wheat bread, use half buckwheat flour to add a unique, nutty flavor and darker color.

    INGREDIENT: Whole Grain Organic Buckwheat

    Store in a cool, dry place. Keeps best refrigerated or frozen after opening.


    • 1 cup Bob's Red Mill® Organic Buckwheat Flour
    • ¼ tsp Sea Salt
    • 1 tsp Baking Powder
    • 1 Egg, well beaten
    • 2 Tbsp Molasses
    • 1 cup Milk
    • 1 Tbsp Oil

    Heat a lightly greased griddle or pan over medium-high heat. In a small bowl, whisk flour, salt and baking powder. In a medium bowl, whisk egg, molasses, milk and oil. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet until just combined, and then pour ¼-cup portions onto the hot griddle or pan. Cook until bubbly, then flip and cook until the cent is set, about 2-3 minutes per side. Serve immediately.

    Makes 8 pancakes.
