PepZin GI is a combination of the mineral zinc and the amino peptide L-carnosine that provides protection to all areas of the stomach. The lining of the stomach is protected from its own caustic gastric juices by a thin layer of gel-like mucus. Evidence suggests that the combination of ingredients in PepZin GI isn't easily broken down by these harsh gastric juices, so it is able to strengthen the mucosal barrier by adhering to the stomach wall.

Jarrow was more effective I love many Swanson products but this one does not work as well as Jarrow's. Swanson does not carry the Jarrow version any longer so I'm seeking another brand, October 24, 2010

Effective and Affordable The dosage is half of the doctor-sold zinc carnosine I was taking, but even with taking twice as many, I'm still saving a lot of money. I've never been dissatisfied with a Swanson product and recommend them often. January 18, 2010
