a great product
I, and another family member have found this to be an extraordinary product. We use it twice a day. One person before their workouts and I in the morning and before walks. We're pleased and amazed at the extra energy. This is one product that will be a continual part of our daily regemin. I'm just sorry it took so long to learn about this great natural sugar.

AM Energy in my coffee drink
This has become a habit. Husband puts in regular coffee and I put in my Capachino drink along with some fiber. This was recommended by Dr. Becker on TV, so we tried it and kept with it. It is easy to use in morning, and now is a habitl

I do a lot of research on the Internet into different supplements that affect the body differently. Recently I discovered Ribose powder that is a natural sugar that gives your body energy at the cellular level. Being in my early 60's, I can use all of the energy I can get so I ordered a gar. After taking it a few days, I did feel as though I had more energy and my mind had more clarity. I just received my 2nd container and I intend on taking it from now on. I just add it to my cereal in the mornings like you would regular sugar but this isn't bad for you.

Ribose not totally dissolving
This product isn't dissolving as well as it used to.

Depending on what you are looking for
After doing a lot of research, I bought this Ribose powder as part of my prework out drink mix. I combined this with Creatine and BCAA with the intent of it fueling my muscles during my workouts.
This is something that I know is doing it's job, however, I don't feel any extra boost of energy as I had read in other reviews.
I do feel this product is a little expensive, but it is very good quality ingredients.
I probably won't purchase another one and just stick to my creatine and BCAA blend.

High solvent content
When I opened the container there was a very strong smell similar to methyl-ethyl-ketone. Ribose at room temperature would have a very slight sweet smell. I just returned a similar product from another source for the same complaint so I spread this in a glass baking dish, put a paper towel over it and a layer of fresh baked silica gel over that, then taped on a polyethylene cover, letting it sit to soak up the solvent. I see no excuse for the solvent and would not use the product before cleaning it. I would not recommend it to anyone that I thought would not clean it before use. There is no general yes or no answer to whether or not I would recommend it but the system won't let me post this unless I say yes or no.

didn't seem to help
Tried it for a while -- do lots of bicycling. If anything, seemed to ride a bit WORSE! But, unlike other powders, this dissolved surprisingly well.

This is food for mitochondrial energy, for ATP production! Either take extra magnesium and malic acid, or get the Ribose with these nutrients already included (also offered by Swanson's). And taken along with virgin coconut oil and NADH, you can "feed" your cells even MORE energy-making fuel.
The Ribose powder MAY seem somewhat inconvenient, but is MUCH more powerful than the "convenience" of capsules. It hits the bloodstream almost immediately in the powdered form, especially if placed directly in your mouth. You can always get empty gelatin caps and then fill them with the powder for easy transport, but the powder is actually MORE convenient in the long run:
Take a scoopful under your tongue (tastes like sugar), along with a bit of powdered dextrose for muscle and energy food, either pre or post workout, or anytime. Mix with your shake, or add to your water bottle and sip throughout the day

The powder dissolves very nicely and there is no objectionable odor like some other brands. My wife leads two exercise groups and does not like to go without it at any time. The only drawback is the newer container with less than 3 inch opening makes it difficult to reach the powder with the very short measuring scoop provided.

I HAVE referred this to others already
I have discovered this product from Swanson's and definitely would refer it to anyone who needs alittle extra pick me up. I take it daily and without it feel run down, easily fatigued, etc.

I bought this product because Swanson's recommended it when I searched for Natrol's D-Ribose. It is NOT the same as D-Ribose so they should not be recommending it as a substitute. I use D-Ribose for energy and it has changed my life, adding pep back into my day so I can get tasks done. After a week of using this product, I am so tired I can hardly do anything. I am ordering the real thing as soon as possible so I can get my life back! This product is worthless and I want my money back.

ONLY ONE PROBLEM THE SCOOP IS TO SHORT
January 20, 2012
Container has problems
I have used Ribose for over a year and find it very effective. I do have a complaint, however, about the new container. It is taller and more narrow than the previous container. I am a woman with small hands and I find it difficult to get my hand into the container and locate the scoop. Your previous container caused me NO problem.

Yea for Ribose, Nea for container
We take Ribose daily and find it to help our energy. And for a couple in our 60s, that's important! Now, with this last order you switched the container from a nice compact plastic jar to a much taller plastic jar with a smaller opening, which makes it much harder to reach in and fill the scoop, even though the amount of Ribose stayed the same. I have rather small hands for a man, but this doesn't work well. Even my petite wife has difficulty getting her hand in. The smaller jar allowed me to simply use my fingers to find and fill the scoop. Please switch back. The container shouldn't discourage the use of a great product.

Really Like It
I do really like this product. I have tried many others by various manufacturers and this is my favorite by far.
November 11, 2011
Really good supplement but it comes in a container that is 5 3/4" tall and is only filled up about half way. That wouldn't be a problem if the scoop that comes with the product had a long handle but the handle is only 1 1/4" long. My recommendation is either use a shorter container since all the extra space isn't used or put a longer handle on the enclosed scoop. Overall an excellent supplement and does seem to help my energy and mood, highly recommend.

Have been taking D-Ribose for a few years now for heart health along with Ubiguinol and Carnitine mostly. Felt so good with this combo that I cut back on the doseage to 1 scoop per day maintenance for quite a while with no problems. Later on I got stingy and decided to save a buck and quit the Ribose all together. BIG MISTAKE! Reordered more today. Enough said.? Great product in my opinion.

One of the best on the market
I just wanted to let you know that I tried this product once a few months ago and really didn't notice much of an effect.
That of course as I have recently learned is because I am was to much of a tight wad and didn't use enough of the product.
I have been increasing my exercise routine this year because I was tired of the way I felt and looked for the last few years.
I did lots of research before I began this fitness/ bulking routine in early January.
To get the full effects of d-ribose you have to used enough of the product.
I used to skimp on using maybe 5 grams in a day in smoothies and other beverages.
Now I use at least 10 to 20 grams a day.
I used to get extremely tired on the treadmill around the 30 minute mark in a 60 minute walk/run.
Now just after my warm-up routine and getting the shoes on and the treadmill ready I put 1 teaspoon of d-ribose under my tongue to slowly dissolve over a ten minute period or so while I am on the treadmill.
At the 30 minute mark as the glucose is used up from my muscles, something else takes over its just as if your energy does not stop it is just amazing.
After the workouts before using ribose I used to be exhausted, pretty much for the rest of the day. Now after using d-ribose I feel alive and rejuvenated. I can do things all day with what seems unlimited energy, like in my twenties and then some.
My heart feels great the harder I push and I just never really seem to be without energy.
After my workouts I will make a organic fruit smoothie in a blender using all the power fruits. Blueberries, kiwi's, cranberries, raspberries, banana's, ground up in some fresh squeezed orange juice and some 100% organic pomegranate juice.
Just before blending in goes a scoop of 5 grams of d-ribose and yum yum yum.
It is important to drink this down within an hour after your workout to get the full benefits of restoring the essential nutrients to your cells.
Just before bed another 5 grams of d-ribose maybe in a protein drink or mixed with your evening tea and good night baby.
I'm telling you stuff is no joke, if you give it a try for around a month or so you will not go without it again.
Your friends will be asking what you have changed, you seem more energetic and full of life.
Give it a try if you are not willing to spend a few bucks on yourself for that feeling of well being then what are you willing to spend it on.

Don't buy it
I tried this stuff for a month. You might feel a little bit of energy, but I get a better effect with Swansons Energy Boost capsules, which are time released. For the expense, you are much better off without it.
