didnt work for me
I tried this product because it was a slightly better value than the dgl from puritan. What a mistake!! After a couple weeks of use my stomach issues returned. I switched back to puritan and all is good again. In addition I prefer the black licorice flavor offered by the puritan brand. The dgl from swanson has a mint flavor and a much softer texture. Unfortunately it didn't work for me but Swanson was great and refunded my purchase.

DGL Licorice (reformulated???)
I have been bying the DGL by Swansons for quite a while. I put up with the taste because it worked! It tasted a little like dirt and a lot like licorice. The other day, when my new vitamin shipment came in, I popped a couple of the DGL tablets into my mouth and was pleasantly shocked and amazed at the new and vastly improved DGL. They taste exactly like...peppermint. I don't taste any dirt or licorice anymore. I can't speak highly enough about the new taste!

Has Really Helped Me
I chew 1 or 2 tabs before or after meals and I feel much more comfortable and with less fullness. These tabs have a fresh sweet mint taste at first then a slight licorice taste after you chew them. I lightly chew them with my front teeth so they don't get stuck in my back teeth. I want the product in my stomach not in my teeth. Also, very convenient product as I can chew one anytime. Highly recommend.

Excellent Product
This product was purchased in place of NOW DGL as NOW DGL was out of stock.
It is an excellent product. The flavor is minty and it is as effective if not more so than the NOW DGL.
Highly Recommended.

Good product
but....... I really don't like the peppermint oil added to the DGL. When I am finished with this bottle I will go back to another brand without this.

Happy to see the changes to DGL
Thank you swanson for the changes you made in the taste of the DGL. 5 months ago it tasted like mold and smelled like mildew. And now the cross between Stevia and Peppermint the product is
ideal. Now I can highly recommend this !

Good Product
I think this is a good and effective product. The tablets are easy to chew, are crunchy, naturally sweet and good tasting. They are deglycyrrhizinated so they shouldn't raise B.P. I take for gastrointestinal improvement and found it to be effective. Just don't take more than suggested, I developed headaches when taking more than suggested.

Peppermint oil added
Have taken different DGL products for many years. So happy I found Swanson brand last year and have been very pleased with results, flavor and especially the value. However, NOT happy with recent change in formula with addition of pepperment oil. Would prefer licorice flavor over peppermint. Plus, peppermint not good for my particular digestive issue. I will go back to previous brand and pay more.

Great Chewable DGL Tabs!
Everything is great about this product, but the taste is due to the peppermint oil! So, if you want it to taste like licorice, you may be disappointed. But if you love peppermint, then you will love these!!!

Appreciate this DGL!
One doesn't know just how good an item is until one has to use another brand. Because of poor planning I ran out of Swanson's DGL. I figured I could buy another brand cheaper considering the shipping cost on one item. I did find one a little cheaper -- I thought -- until I got it home and noticed it only had 100 tabs compared to the 180 from Swanson. This was "The leading Brand". It was awful -- bigger tabs, sticky with sucrose (I guess), it gummed up my mortar and pestle (I have to crush my tabs), and I had to take extra doses to settle my stomach. I changed my rating for convenience because the Swanson brand is a lot easier to crush. Stick with Swanson and you will not be disappointed.. BTW I am just a consumer like you; not on the staff or take.

Tried a lot, like this one
I have tried several brands and flavors of DGL. The ones with orange flavor bother me, and although I didn't like the flavor of this one at first, I now like it better than the plain DGL (with no added flavor). It's effective and has helped me immensly. Highly recommended, especially for the price!

"What a relief"
I have been trying all sorts of remedies for a 'touchy' stomach, some more expensive than others. Then I was reading about DGL and immediately logged on to Swanson Vitamins to see if they have it. Well, of course they do. Let me tell you, this is a great product. You chew 2 just before a meal and it coats all the way down. They are sweetened with fruit juice -which takes a couple of days to get used to- but now I won't eat a meal without them. They work and are a good price.

Taste Only OK
I ordered these because I love licorice and thought they'd be good for me. But I don't particularly care for the taste of these chewables.
They seem good quality at a good price, though.

Effective? Not sure.
The Enzymatic Therapy brand of dgl that Swanson sells is much more effective for me for any stomach troubles. It also has a licorice flavor, which this one doesn't. I just didn't have good luck with this brand on this particular product.
