Swanson Lecithin is a bona fide classic when it comes to nutritional supplements! Lecithin is a naturally occurring mixture of phospholipids found in foods such as soybeans, sunflower seeds, and egg yolks. It is a rich source of phosphatidylcholine, an important phospholipid that helps maintain healthy cell membranes and provides choline, an essential nutrient involved in normal brain, liver, and nervous system function.
Phospholipids are fat-like molecules that form the basic structure of all cell membranes. Their unique structure—one water-attracting head and two fat-attracting tails—allows them to create a flexible barrier that surrounds and protects cells. They help maintain cell membrane integrity and support the movement of nutrients and signaling molecules in and out of cells.
Try a tablespoon or two in a protein shake or sprinkle it on your cereal each morning. Identity preserved, non-GMO lecithin.

FAQ
- What is phosphatidylcholine, and why is it important?
Phosphatidylcholine is the primary phospholipid found in lecithin and a major structural component of cell membranes throughout the body. It also serves as a source of choline, which is needed to produce acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in normal brain and nervous system function. By supporting cell membrane integrity, phosphatidylcholine helps maintain healthy cellular communication and function. - How does lecithin support healthy cell membranes?
Cell membranes rely on phospholipids to maintain their structure, flexibility, and function. The phospholipids in lecithin help preserve membrane integrity, supporting the normal movement of nutrients and signaling molecules into and out of cells. This is important because healthy cell membranes are essential for proper cellular communication, nutrient transport, and waste removal, all of which are critical for maintaining normal cellular function throughout the body. - Why choose lecithin granules instead of capsules or softgels?
Lecithin granules provide the same naturally occurring phospholipids found in many capsule and softgel products while offering greater flexibility. They can be mixed into smoothies, yogurt, oatmeal, or other foods, making them a convenient option for individuals who prefer not to swallow pills or want to adjust their serving size. - Is Swanson Lecithin Granules suitable for special diets?
Swanson Lecithin Granules are suitable for vegan and vegetarian lifestyles and are made with non-GMO soy lecithin. This product is not formulated or certified to be gluten free or dairy free, so individuals with gluten or dairy sensitivities should review the ingredient list before use.
