Pea Protein - 100% Pure 4.5 5 68 70
Excellent product, for an excellent price. It has a nice consistency too. Sometimes I add a little vanilla extract to enhance the flavor. May 9, 2013
Smooth as a Pea this protein is so smooth..i just love it! it's got enough protein in it to last me until lunch time. it feels very soothing to the stomach first thing in the morning. it mixes great with almond, rice or soy milk. highly recommend!!!! May 3, 2013
Great Product Heard about pea protein powder on Dr. Oz as a great product to add to your daily health regimen. I add it to my breakfast smoothie and it gives me much needed protein in my diet. It does alter the taste of my smoothies, but I can tolerate it for the benefits it gives me. May 2, 2013
I Likey Thees Stuffs! No flavor. Could have flavor. I mix it in my morning smoothie which has no flavor. I'll probably add some cocoa powder and stevia to get some flavor. May 2, 2013
BEST PROTEIN POWDER!!!!! I LOVE this stuff! It is so versatile, I put it in everything from dinners to desserts. Some of my favorite things to add it to: Popcorn Oatmeal Soup Salad Pasta Quinoa yogurt smoothies home made popcycles and icecream I'd publish an entire recipe book using this product if they allowed me to do so. It acts as a thickening agent in recipes, so you may need to add some more liquid if you don't want to use it as such. The amazing thing is that it actually IMPROVES the flavor of EVERYTHING I add it to - whether savory(salty), sweet, etc.! And the price is outstanding! I also LOVE that it is not overly processed with a paragraph of unnecessary ingredients, additives, chemicals, sweetners, etc. Only ONE ingredient! So pure, so delicious, and I can have it throughout the day without worrying about getting an overdose of vitamins and minerals (which are artificially added to other protein powders, and which had caused me fatigue before, because it was an overdose and caused an imbalance in my system). THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SWANSONS! FABULOUS product! Soooo happy! :) April 30, 2013
great product We recently purchased two containers of the pea protein. We are thoroughly pleased with the quality and effectiveness. We are both in our seventies and have always been "health nuts". The pea protein mixes so well in our blender for our smoothies. I usually put a banana, some other fruit like an orange, strawberries, pineapple, etc. and fruit juice or almond milk. It mixes well, and we do not taste 'peas' like others have said. We will continue to use it daily and highly recommend it to others. If some people say it 'clumps', its because they're not using a blender perhaps? We love it. April 23, 2013
Great Source of Protein Pea Protein powder is an excellent way to fortify cookies! I always add at least 1/4th cup to any cookie recipe which quickly adds protein to the cookie without effecting the taste! :-) April 18, 2013
Yellow Pea Protien Love this product and only gave it a 4star on effectiveness because there is no real way for me to judge it fully. I am Vegan and have to avoid high oxalate foods. I wanted to find a product that didn't have any added sugar or sweeteners and when I called the company they told me it was only peas. Great price, Great S&H. I am ordering this all the time and soon will place it on automatic order once I judge my use. April 4, 2013
good value, basic pea protein I use this in cooking (pancakes) and sometimes in a pre-workout drink with almond milk, carob powder, a dash of vanilla and stevia. I see no issue/aversion to taste as some reviewers note, and it just doesn't have much taste to me, but what I detect is decent and smooth. I do prefer a little sweeter/tastier product, thus not 5 stars. April 2, 2013
Great for Smooties My wife and I drink a lot of smoothies. This pea protein is a wonderful addition to our smoothies. It has a neutral taste so it doesn't affect the taste of the smoothie and it mixes very easily in the blender. April 1, 2013
best vegan protien best in smoothies then other vegan protien powders! April 1, 2013
Love it! I'd been looking for a protein powder without soy, and my Mom recommended Pea Protein. I thought it sounded odd, but tried it anyway and now I'm hooked. I have one before bed and one first thing in the morning. I use unsweetened almond milk, some stevia or other natural sweetener, and some cocoa powder, which gives it a chocolate milkshake sort of flavor. Use a shaker cup to get out the lumps. Don't know how I lived without it! March 23, 2013
Great in a smoothie Easy way to add vegan protein to your diet. My husband makes a smoothie with this every day. March 22, 2013
This product has great value and performance. March 6, 2013
Works great, not meant for taste though Bad taste aside (can be masked by a shake with fruits), it did as it was supposed to and it was easier on my stomach than whey protein was. I already have been gaining muscle weight by having this with all my meals. February 25, 2013
best veggie protein Has a tolerable pea-like taste and is very easily digestible. It is a good change if you get tired of a ton of whey everyday. February 25, 2013
I Love Swanson Pea Protein! This is my all-time favorite protein powder: it is much easier to digest than whey or soy protein, tastes great and is highly economical. I enjoy it whisked into almond milk, or as part of a fruit smoothie. February 19, 2013
Good stuff! Easily digestible. I use less than recommended, usually a heaping teaspoon twice a day in cereal and soup. It may take a little getting used to by your digestive tract especially if you are using the recommended amount ( you could experience some flatulence). I researched protein content, number of servings and cost, this product seemed to lead the league! February 17, 2013
Excellent source of protein! Swanson's pea protein powder is such a super way to ingest protein. It is easily digestible, even for small children or older adults. It mixes up easily in a blender. We use coconut milk, almond meal, some "Green powder" from Trader Joe's, Sweet Leaf Stevia, and bananas to make a delicious morning meal that keeps us going until noon, without feeling overloaded, like we would feel if we ate bacon and eggs. February 17, 2013
Excellent for the Price I love this stuff. I put it in my smoothies in the morning. I also chug it down after my runs (half marathoner here) so my muscles don't starve. It has less sodium than some brands I've seen and just about the same amount of protein. I just bought 3 more containers today. January 6, 2013
pea protein This is great for those of us who must remain gluten and dairy free. Also it isn't sweetened so that I can add the sweetener of my choice. It does have a strong flavor, so a little vanilla and cocoa help! So far I have had great results using it as meal replacement. December 26, 2012
I didnt give 5 stars because I really do not know how good the quality is or the effectiveness. I could not get past the taste or the texture. Hats off to those of you who can. I really wanted to make it work but I couldnt do it. I am going to keep the product for a little while and when I get my nerve up I will try it again. November 30, 2012
great protein This is a great way to get your protein, there is no taste and I like it a lot. November 25, 2012
Good Product! I'm a vegetarian and Swanson Pea Protein provides a quick and easy way to get my daily supply of quality protein. It's especially handy when traveling because of the ease of packaging and preparing. And I don' have to worry about finding a restaurant that caters to my dietary needs. November 5, 2012
Stop complaining and eat your peas! Ok, I did a flavor test of both Swanson Premium pea protein and the Swanson Ultra whey protein (from cow milk). What I did was take 2 seperate teaspoons, and took a small amont of each protein and tasted them both straight, (no mixing in water, juice, etc.) seperately, drinking some water in between to lessen tasting the last sample, and comparing strengths of tastes. I am also obviously listing what they taste like mixed in water by themselves. I'm including as well a scale of potency, 0=no taste, to 10=very strong taste. Also to be fair, I am going by memory on the mixed-in-water solutions, as I do not want to do overkill on all of the protein. I already take both whey and pea protein, mixed together some of the times, about 3 times a day, and I am doing this review at the end of the day. Pea protein:teaspoon,8-9 strong pea taste. Mixed in water, 7-8 strong pea taste. Mixes by the way about the same as whey protein. Whey protein:teaspoon,5-6 fairly strong milk taste.Mixed in water,4-6 fair milk taste.Mixes about the same as pea protein. Bottom line: If you do not like peas, I reccommend you avoid. There is definately a strong pea taste, at least to me. If you don't mind the taste of peas, then still be prepared for the notably strong flavor. I reccommend coconut palm sugar to sweeten this if you plan to mix pea or whey protein, or both in water for ease of taking, because taking either protein in just water is kind of bland. Coconut palm sugar is by the way, low on the glycemic index. You could also mix pea protein in juice, but that is a lot of sugar. Whey protein in juice? Bleeh! October 18, 2012
