Certified Organic Avocado Oil
My skin looks gret!
I have been using Aura Cacia refined avocado oil for years, but it never moisturized my skin the way this unrefined oil does. I use it topically and I add to it a few drops of essential oils. I also use it as is on my body while it is still wet from the shower. And, of course, it tasted great on my salad. Great quality and price!

I love this oil
This is the first bottle of the Swanson Certified Organic Avocado Oil. I use it mostly on salads, but have included it in cooking as well. Perfect product.

Aside from the health benefits I wasn't too fond of this oil. It may just be a personal preference, but I didn't think it tasted very fresh and reminded me of an overripe avocado. Using this oil for the first time, maybe it is supposed to taste this way, but it just isn't for me. Also, the bottle is not very convenient as the oil turns solid while in the fridge.

bad container for decent product
For the health benefits, we like to have avocado in our salads daily, but the store does not always have decent ones in stock. That is why I like to keep a bottle of this handy.
The big drawback to this oil is the container. First of all, it should come in glass instead of plastic. Second, since it needs to be refrigerated after opening it, you need to have it in a wide mouth jar instead of a narrow neck bottle. When cool, this product is very thick and must be spooned out.

Though pricey, my love for avocados and the positive reviews made me want to splurge. As soon as I received it, I used it in a lemon vinaigrette recipe. I'm glad I tasted it before dressing the salad! Both my daughter and I agreed that it tasted and smelled rancid. A friend (who uses and loves avocado oil) took a whiff from the bottle and agreed. Thank heavens for Swanson's 100% guarantee, as I am returning it.

Avocado oil is a favorite of mine for cooking. It stands high temperatures and develops a subtle bacon-like flavor when used to pan sear things like chicken breast. Along with tea seed oil for delicate use and extra-virgin olive oil for normal use, avocado oil is a staple here when it comes to saute use. It also can be used effectively in salad dressings.

good for high heat cooking
I like using this for stir frying. It does not have a strong taste and works well without smoking.

Organic Avocado Oil
I'm very pleased with this product. The only drawback is having to remove it in advance from the frig so that it can soften to pour. It definitely ranks very high on my nutrition scale as an excellent food item.

Not what I expected
I absolutely love avocados! so I was really looking forward to trying avocado oil to make mayonnaise and for salads. However, right off I found the oil to be extremely salted even though the label showed no sodium at all. After using it to make mayonnaise I found that it had a very unlikeable flavor. I needed to add sour cream and some mustard and some macadamia mayo to be able to tolerate the taste. No doubt this type of oil will need a "getting used to" time frame. For now, though, I will not be buying any more avocado nut oil.

Good and Good for you!
Avocado oil has the highest smoke point of any oil and therefore healthier to use than other oils that will go rancid in the pan! I agree though that it should come packaged in glass and the inconvenience of it becoming solidified in the fridge is off putting, so here is what I do...I open the bottle and pour the contents into another WIDE mouth glass jar with tight fitting screw-on lid, that way, when I get it from the fridge I can just SPOON the amount I need right away, no thawing! Granted it is not as nice looking but who cares? Problems solved! Great price as always from Swanson.

Great for salads. Adds a wonderful flavor along with the health benefits of avocados.

avacado oil: good stuff
This has a very good flavor, for pan saute and salad dressing. The bottle design could be improved, it drips when poured. I've read that it's very healthful and has a high smokepoint, so it's all around good stuff!

Excellent product, and I have tried several different brands of avocado oil. This is great with salmon, salad dressing, and baking tortilla chips! Yum!

I Enjoy this Avocado oil
I had to try this avocado oil, as I love avocados; but they are hard to keep on hand. I absolutely hate the taste & smell of OLIVE oil, so this is a great substitute, giving you basically the same kind of healthy oil in your diet. It also keeps fresh much longer than OLIVE oil & can take higher heat than OLIVE oil; though I do not heat mine, as I use it on my salads only. I would like the avocado oil sold in a glass bottle much better, & the price is a little high for me; but I splurge :) Enjoy!!

Avocado as food ingredient, skin and hair product
I bought this oil to make Vegan butter with - and it truly DID make it so nice and buttery! I also use this product on my skin and hair. This has been the ONLY oil so far that makes my hair SO soft. I am VERY happy with the high quality and richness of this oil.

I was ready to order this until I realized it was not a glass bottle. Listen to the customers, Swanson's. We love you and we want glass please.

Alvocado Oil for frying
Alvocado Oil's high smoke point of 480% Degrees is perfect for frying, espeacially when frying at 350 to 375%'s for eggs in a cast iron skillet. The alvocado oil has a nutral flavor and take's on the flavor of the food it's on in frying. Delisious!

Wonderful in Smoothies!!
My family and I do not like the taste or consistency of avocados but know we should be incorporating them into our diet because of all the health benefits. We tried putting a small amount of avocado into our smoothies and it just overpowered it and that was all you could taste. This oil works perfect! I put 1/2 a teaspoon and you can taste mild avocado but all the berry and fruit taste too. (We use kale, spinach, chard, 1-2 prunes for sweetness, chia seeds or almonds and an assortment of fruit and berries.)
The bottle says to keep refrigerated and it does set up to a solid when in the fridge. It will not pour out and a teaspoon won't fit in the neck of the bottle so I use a 1/4 teaspoon from my measuring spoon set to get it out. Just a minor inconvenience, I am sure you could let it set on the counter for 1/2 an hour but who has the time!
I love that it is organic, I just wish it was in a glass bottle.

Love this stuff.
I was really impressed by the quality of this oil. Compared to the other organic brand I was using. I spread it on sandwhiches and and salads. I even add to my homemade conditioners my hair loves it compared to the other brand.
I keep it stored in the refigerator during summer and it unthaws in just 30 minutes. I will continue to purchase.

TURN UP THE HEAT
GREAT FOR HIGH HEAT COOKING. WISH IT WAS A GLASS BOTTLE. UNIQUE TASTE FOR VARIETY.

organic avocado oil
I was happy to find this organic avocado oil at a reasonable price. The oil is a bit thick. My only concern is that it comes in plastic bottles and ideally oils should be kept in amber/brown glass containers.

Powerful cooking oil
Never cooked with anything quite as powerful as this! It allows high temberatures without any smoking. I plan to keep some of this in my kitchen at all times alongside my extra virgin olive oil.

Originally ordered this "unrefined" product for dry hands, face and hair care as an alternative to Spectrum's refined avocado oil, but found it to be more of a culinary product than a skin care product, although I still use it as a hair treatment an hour before shampooing.
It's amazing for culinary purposes! Over fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and basil - divine! In vegetable sautes - incredibly flavorful! Don't even have to love avocado to love this - but I do! A great find and a healthy oil!
