another great value We like both this Starwest and the Swanson brand, but if you use a lot like we now do, this one pound bag is a great value. Whenever our turmeric spice shaker is running low, we scoop some out of this big bag and refill the bottle. May 11, 2013

Great Cleanser Turmeric has always been a favorite of mine, and this product is the best value I have ever seen. We mix a spoonful with pepper and mustard and use it in all of our meals. A lot of turmeric for a little money! I got this 1 pound bag of organic turmeric, to actually replace the pill form of turmeric thinking it would cut down on the cost. I learned very quickly that taking turmeric powder mixed in water was not an appealing option, because it tasted very bitter. I think I'll stick to the pills from now on. Now I have a pound of seasoning for cooking, though. Also, when I opened the bag, the plastic zip-seal had come loose of the side of the bag. Maybe from the enzymes in the turmeric? Because of that, I rated this product 3 stars in convenience, because I now have to close the bag with a clothes-pin, which I do not really mind, but you or somebody else might not feel the same way. I'm sure you could put all of the powder in a seperate container. Final thoughts: If you want a whopping 1 pound of organic turmeric powder for a really low price, here is an option for you. Keep in mind that the plastic zip-seal in the bag may come loose, so I'd find another way to store the turmeric powder. February 12, 2013
