GMO!
Asorbic Acid is derived from Corn unless stated on the label. ALL CORN IN THE US IS GMO unless it specifically states its non-gmo. If you go to Now Foods website they have a list of their very few products that are GMO Free, this is NOT one of them.

Is What it Is
Ascorbic acid can be used to preserve food from the browning reaction. So can lemon juice, but not as effectively. I put 2 tsp per quart of freshmade vej juice to prevent oxidation. THe taste after 5 days is as fresh as new juice--tho I wouldn't keep vej juice longer than that when I can help it.

Convenient source of C
Economical and convenient source of Vitamin C, as pharmaceutical grade ascorbic acid. It has none of the additives necessary to produce C in pill form, only the ascorbic acid. I like the sour taste, similar to lemon juice in water. I usually add it to a banana/yogurt/ice blender shake that includes a scoop of Swanson's magnesium citrate (really helps with energy) and a scoop of a comprehensive multivitamin/mineral powder. This provides a balanced, thorough supply of nutrients that is difficult, if not impossible, to achieve even with a healthy diet. One would need to eat a ton of fruit to supply these amounts of C which isn't a good idea given the large amounts of fructose that would also be consumed.

Excellent
I have never been a water drinker and was looking to add the vitamin C but in a way that I would drink more water. This was the perfect choice. I add this to my water, add sweetener of choice, about 5 drops of lemon juice and makes perfect lemonade. Plus getting the benefit of all the vitamin!

Great Product
This powder gets used to rinse off fruit and vegetables, nuts etc. It is added as a preservative and purifier to many things I do. It is also great for a quick refreshing drink-add ice and stevia powder and you have a great tasting glass that tastes like lemonade. Very versatile product. I highly recommend for anyone.
