A non-essential amino acid found mainly in the human brain and eyes, GABA (gamma aminobutyric acid) is considered an inhibitory neurotransmitter, which means it regulates brain and nerve cell activity by inhibiting the number of neurons firing in the brain. Relaxation is key. I like the NOW Foods Gaba because I think it's pretty convenient and well priced. For effectiveness, it could just be me because my body doesn't react to things quickly, so I usually have to take more than 1 of them to get the full benefits of the relaxing feel. January 23, 2011
