smell so Amazing
I love this smell of this product, if you not careful you might end up eating it. Great moisturize, absorbe well in your skin, and it's not greasy. I love it, I love it.

Smells like hot cocoa and makes an excellent ingredient in body butters.

I only use cocoa butter for one thing, making homemade chocolate chips. We eat sugar free and I can mix a few ingredients and create a nice finished product. NOW Foods is a great brand and Swanson has the best pricing.

Great to make chocolates
The website said this cocoa butter is food grade so I made homemade chocolates with this cocoa butter and they tasted awesome. Great way to boost magnesium naturally. Now I just need a bigger bottle than 7 oz.

Happy with purchase.
Love this cocoa butter. It moisturizes well and it smells great.
When it gets difficult to scoop out, I just place the whole container in a small pot of hot water. I boil the water first, take it off the fire, and put the container of cocoa butter in.
I haven't had to do that lately, though, as it has been so hot out!
This cocoa butter mixes great with shea butter for even better skin softening properties.

I got this to make lotion with and it is a great product. It is a bit more expensive then other cocoa butters I could find but I really like the container it comes in. Smells great, works great, and is a good consistency.

The Real Stuff
It's not really a cream, it's hard, like you need a metal spoon, to get the product out, but after a few seconds in the microwave it would melt, and then you can add it to lotions, hair recipes.. or anything you like.
Smells wonderful just like chocolate!

Excellent quality and best price anywhere
ALL good cocoa butters are hard and will need to be broken up or melted to utilize them.
That said I just used a firm fork to break it up enough to measure out what I needed. No complaints here.
I use it to make my own hand creams, free of alcohol and other questionable ingredients.
It smells good enough to eat -cause it's FOOD GRADE. Shortly after ordering this I came across a recipe requiring cocoa butter and was so pleased that I could use it for that too.
Very happy with it. I would just love to be able to buy a larger size of it at one time. (To use less plastic in packaging.)

Nice Product with a few caveats
Overall, I like the quality of this product. It's rich and smells wonderful. I have begun to use it in making body butters after learning that the ubiquitous shea butter contains natural latex, and I'm allergic to latex. The problem with the product is not the product itself. It's the packaging and deception of the weight. First, it's impossible to get out of the jar unless it's heated in either the microwave (which means BE SURE TO REMOVE EVERY BIT OF THE FOIL LINER) or in boiling water - both of which destroy the jar so it can't be used again. The "7 oz" is misleading. It's actually 7 fluid ounces, not a measure of weight. For the reviewers who commented that they can't scoop it out per the instructions, keep in mind that cocoa butter must be added to other carrier oils such as almond oil, grapeseed oil, etc. to be rubbed into the skin. By itself, it would be like trying to rub beeswax into the skin.

This cocoa butter smells good enough to eat. Well, it smells just like chocolate. It looks like rock but it's not as hard as you think. Any stainless steel spoon or fork can be used to easily break the butter off. It's as easy as scooping through powder, with a little bit more force. I used it to make lip balm and turned out very nice

I bought this product and really love it. It moisturizes my dry skin and the smell is incredible. I like to make my own body butter by using this combined with coconut oil. For those who think it is too hard, let me tell you what I do. I break some apart with a fork and put it in a jelly or mason jar. Then I use one of those candle warmers that you can buy at any craft store and heat it up until it melts. It will not be hot but nice and warm. You can use this technique to mix a lot of solid fats and make your own natural body butter.

Good moisturizer but weird texture
I really like cocoa butter as a moisturizer and hair treatment - it's rich and smells divine. Its solid texture might be enough to throw some people off, though. You can use a spoon to flake off the top layer, but it takes some patience. The trick I've used is letting the container sit in warm water for 5-10 minutes. After the butter softens, it's easier to use and absorbs into my skin/hair much more readily. I'm not sure this method is a good one considering the container is plastic, but it's convenient. Because it takes some prep time, I only use the butter once every 1 or 2 weeks.

First jar was hard as a rock, second jar was hard as a rock. Finally refunded my money

Very rich, but very hard to get out of the jar. I put it in the sun for awhile and nothing happened to soften the oil. Works great but very hard to get out of jar.

Very good quality butter
very natural and pure. I add this to homemade body butter. I personally fell like cocoa butter alone is just too crumbly, but on top of lots of hydration, it adds a great scent to homemade lotions etc.

I use this as a base for a body butter that I make and it is wonderful and mixes very well with the other oils.

I must say that I was a bit shocked at both the size of the container and texture of the product. I have never purchased this product before, so I was not aware of its solid texture. I probably will not purchase this item again unless it reduces the marks.
However, I can say that I am very pleased with the level of customer service provided by Swansons. Not every company will go the extra mile to ensure that customers are 100% satisfied. Thanks!

This is the best moisturizer especially during the dry winter months. It helps keep my skin soft and smooth! I use this instead of a cream that I normally use that costs me $200+ for a 4 oz jar!!
