I use this to repel lizards and snakes.
So glad Swanson carries this clove oil in 4 oz. bottles at a reasonable price. It is great to sprinkle all around any areas that you believe lizards are snakes frequent to repel them.

This didn't smell at all like clove to me. I own two clove oils and compared to see if I could discern any similiarity at all, but this can only be described as caustic. I had my mother, who is an aromatherapist, smell it, and asked what she thought it was, but she had no idea. I thought it would be a good buy to use for cleaning, but I ended up returning it as the quality was unacceptable even for cleaning. The only thing I could think of as a possible defense is that they used an unusual part of the plant. Otherwise this is either not pure or there was some mishap in the distillation process. I have been thoroughly unimpressed with NOW oils, and don't think I will purchase any more because the quality of the few I've tried has been so low. Aura Cacia is a bit more expensive by volume, but not a whole lot more, and they have strong quality control and nice oils. They may not all be top notch, but some are quite nice and all that I've tried so far (probably around 20 different oils) are of at least acceptable quality.
