Swear by it!
I completely swear by this soap. I have extremely sensitive skin on my face so most soaps and fragrances irritate it, but Kirk's fragrance free soap has done nothing but good things for my face! :) I have been using it for about three months now and probably will continue using it for the rest of my life!

I I use this soap for washing, and also as a shampoo bar. It lathers well, even in hard water, and is soothing to sensitive skin. It cleans well and rinses off with no residue. It is the only soap I use. Wonderful product!

Great soap! It does leave a film on shower curtain and tub, but it easily comes off by scrubbing it with baking soda.

Great for Sensitive Skin!!
I have purchased this product many times in the last year. I recently turned 50 and my skin changed dramatically. I can no longer use soaps and other items that I have used for years. This soap is extremely mild, has no harmful chemicals and can be used for the most sensitive areas without a problem. I would certainly recommend this to all my friends and family.

Coconut oil, tastes good and is good for your body
I was so happy to find Kirk's Original Coco Castile - Fragrance Free. Coconut oil is the best oil for your skin. I really don't care for fragrance, so was very happy to find this soap. It feels great on my skin and gets the job done.

Soap that is soap that is soap
This has become primary soap of choice due to the fact that it is, well, soap plain and simple. Most soaps today both mainstream and the more natural ones feel like they have to knock you out with an obnoxious amount of scent. Compounding the problem is now many soaps are being marketed gender specifically so that soap either smells rutti tutti fresh and fruity or smells like you're using a stick of deodorant dipped in cologne. This soap is perfect for people who prefer their soap to clean them without leaving behind a aromatic crime scene. There is a light natural scent however, as it is not totally devoid of any scent, but it is mild and does not stand out. Also, you can work up a rich lather with this bar, and is an overall good soap.

better than most soap
This natural soap is so much better than soap with sodium Laurel Sulfate.
No scent so it is probably safe for most sensitive skin types.

get kir001 it lasts longer
If you want the longer lasting bars you must get kir001. kir002 is the unscented and only lasts about half as much which is about 11 showers for me. Kir001 lasts about 21 showers as i bought the wrong bars and noticed the difference. Check meh's review to see what i mean. Other than that, this is great brand of soap I've been using for 20 years and everyone I have recommended it to has become a convert. No scent, washes clean, and now the low swanson price to boot. Only issue is it can be a little drying in colder, drier months which is what coconut oil is for

I grate this soap up and use it in the laundry soap I make. One bar soap, 1 cup borax, 1 cup baking Soda.. use 2 TB in regular size washer..

Great Unscented Bar
The best unscented vegetable base bar I have found, hands down!

Kirk's Original Coco Castile - Fragrance Free
This soap is awesome. If you're the type of person who has problems with scents in soaps and want to avoid the toxic stuff in regular store bought soaps then this is the soap for you.
The one thing I first noticed about this soap is that is almost eliminated underarm odor for myself and my 17 year old son> You can imagine how bad a 17 year old boy can smell. I say almost, because it made a drastic reduction.
It lathers very well, a lot better than most commercial soaps, but take care in the shower. All that lather can make the shower floor slippery.

Keeps Skin Soft Without Needing Other Products!!!
Great product. I have very dry skin. With this soap, I no longer need to apply moisturizer to my skin after bathing. My skin retains moisture now. Wow! What a difference from regular soap.

EXCELLENT soap option! It is so hard to find a soap that smells pleasant, doesn't contain lauryl sulfate and won't dry out your skin. Thanks Kirks! Next I'm going to try out their shampoo.

Started using Kirk's in the mid Seventies... 35+ years. In most stores (except "Health" types) there is NO viable alternative. Strong points: lathers WELL ALWAYS - regardless of water. Have used Kirk's exclusively. Camping and traveling always great. In the Amazon/Manaus SA, locals were fascinated with quality, had to leave my bar with someone pleading for it. There is a very mild neutral scent, very light but not in the least objectionable or annoying. The review citing it dissipating quickly is true... IF it isn't allowed to dry between use. The lathering action apparently is TOTALLY hydrophilic. I have drilled holes in my soap container to vent moisture. If kept fairly dry between use the bars will last a long time. Also once applied to washcloth, brush, sponge etc. really HANGS in there. You can also easily just lather up your skin by just rubbing with the bar slightly and then spreading the lather with your hand. I have found it working well on nearly all hand washing needs. Is great on all "garden" type dirt, most "construction" type soiling including much of grease/oil cleansing. Even paint, adhesives, caulk and such wash off, albeit with a hand brush. Good for cleaning under fingernails. I have to resort to shop "hand cleaners" seldom but when I do Kirk's afterwards rinses away all odor and residues of those potions. Also good for washing after getting stuff like WD-40 on your hands.
CONS?? Perhaps for some people the cost... no 6 bars for a buck deals. However Kirk's has climbed to $1.50 to $2 just about everywhere I have been getting it. As usual Swanson's come thru at a buck a bar!
Perfect for hard water and messy hand washing.
OH!! Used it for YEARS to lather up to shave! Nice firm lather, excellent body for shaving . I just wet the bar and rub it on my face , spread it around with my fingers and shave. No cans, cups or brushes. REALLY great while traveling/camping.
And I have used it many times (esp. camping/traveling) to hand wash laundry... works quite well.
Only one caveat: Tried it once while camping to wash my hair - ahem... BOZO the Camper look. Hair was super dry and went crazy (scared the bears away though).
Love this stuff. 35 years - no rashes or other reactions, but hey, everyone's body chemistry is different. Definitely FIVE LEAVES!

I have recently started switching all my bath and body products (as well as laundry and cleaning) from chemical filled standard name brands over to chemical free products. I had high hopes for this soap, especially since it has only 4 ingredients. Unlike other soaps that say "unscented" or "fragrance free" this soap truly has NO scent. It lathers exceptionally well. I put the bar in the shower on Sunday morning and as of today (Wednesday) it's already nearly gone. Typically, a bar of soap will last my husband and I one full week. So, it does seem to be disappearing pretty quickly. I find it leaves my skin feeling dry and tight and I need to put lotion on. The bigger problem is that I noticed a burning sensation on my underarms when using this soap. This has never happened to me before with anything else. I chalked it up to shaving my armpits and the soap just irritating the freshly shaved skin. But as of this morning, my husband told me he is ALSO experiencing the rashy burning sensation on his underarms too. I have no clue what could possibly be causing this, but I will not be buying Kirk's in the future.

This well made product remind me of the simplicity and goodness of so many years past.
The soap I liked at home when I was a kid, gives foam right away, handling and cleaning is pleasant
last a long while. Feels natural as it is.

Fragrance free - smells very clean. I have sensitive skin :( and this soap pampers my skin (I do not use this on my face-I use other Swanson products on my face).
