Ark Naturals Gentle Digest provides a source of beneficial intestinal bacteria and also helps to encourage their growth. All mammals have numerous beneficial bacteria living in their digestive tracts (gut), including dogs, cats and humans. Various factors contribute to a change in the amount of beneficial bacteria in your pet's digestive system. Beneficial bacteria help to digest food and absorb nutrients.

just started using it I have senior kitties with health problems. They are all indoor, so I like the idea of adding some greens. I wouldn't say they gobble it up, but I sprinkle just a little on their food and mix it in. I'm not using the full amount, and I have only had it for a couple of weeks, so it's too early to say whether it is having any effects, but I like the ingredients, and feel better about slipping some of this in their food. Gentle Digest I could not tell any physical differences in my dog from giving him this, and I did wait to reserve judgment until he had finished the whole bottle. Not to say that it wasn't doing something helpful, just that I couldn't see any visible changes. Just for my peace of mind, I'm using formulas from now on that include a much larger quantity and a bunch of different strains of bacterias. January 25, 2013
