Bad Reaction
This is my 2nd attempt to review, so hope this one goes through. I used one 300mg ALA per day for 3 weeks and developed a bad reaction. Luckily I isolate supplements when trying something new. I found my reaction associated with ALA on the Internet. After stopping the ALA my symptoms gradually faded and went away after about 2 weeks. I also felt a burning sensation after swallowing which caused me to chase it with a lot of water. Obviously ALA is not for everyone.

A life extending supplement
I read about this a number of years ago in Reader's Digest. A number of extensive studies showed that it slowed down the aging process. I don't look my age so maybe it does work.

Good stuff

Great results
I love this product. It helps me not to have a sugar rush after eating a heavy carb loaded meal. It does however make my urine smell funny.

One of my essential supps
ALA is something I won't do without on my (extensive) supp program. It has so many established benefits. Most notably it seems to improve our largest organ, our skin, but they are still finding new benefits from this powerful anti-oxidant. At 78, people comment on how few wrinkles I have on my face. I think, that is - in some part - due to my years of healthful supps, including ALA. Also my organic vegan diet. And good genes.

Great value. To be able to get 300 mg of Alpha Lipoic Acid for such a great price is mind boggling. Without making any medical claims, all I can say is this product does what Alpha Lipoic Acid is supposed to do.

Vitamin helper
I've heard of others taking higher doses of alpha lipoic, but this medium dosage and decent price is just right for me and my budget. I find it works synergistically with my other vitamins to help them "go further".
