What Makes Chelated Mineral Glycinates So Superior? First we need to understand the chelation process. Chelation is the result of minerals becoming chemically bound to amino acids in a very specific manner. Chelation occurs naturally during the digestive process to facilitate transport of minerals across the intestinal wall so that they may be utilized throughout the body. Amino acids are not the only "chelators" available, but they are ideal for minerals. The body is very efficient at absorbing individual amino acids, and Albion has identified the amino acid glycine as the preferred molecule for creating organic chelated minerals. Glycine is readily identified and absorbed across the intestinal wall, and Albion's glycinate chelates are actually small enough to transport right into the cells themselves!

"I have tried other brands of chelated magnesium and this is the only one I have been able to tolerate. I sought out Albion based on recommendations by a nutritionist that their formulation is particularly easy to tolerate and have found it to be true. Swanson provides minerals by Albion at the best price I have been able to find (more than 50% less than other places I have found). This is a great product at a great value. I take this product everyday and if I miss a dose, I really notice the difference in how I feel."

I take one capsule with my breakfast and one capsule with my lunch. I don't take any later in the day since I find that the energy it gives me will keep me awake at night. "This form of Mg is the best that can be absorbed by the body. Over intake of Magnesium causes diarrhea and I noticed that for me - the amount is 300 mg per dose. I now take 200 mg 3 times a day. Remember Mg needs to be balanced against Calcium (generally 1:2 ratio) but Magnesium is more readily destroyed than Calcium during cooking so taking Mg supplements is a good thing.

I only wish that Swanson would print the amount of elemental Magnesium on the bottle so that we can calculate how much is being absorbed."

"I love this Albion chelated form of magnesium. I have tried different forms of magnesium in the past but they all gave me some discomfort.
Albion chelated minerals are really gentle, no negative side effects at all and from my own experience they are very well absorbed. Thank you Swanson for making this product available!
