Ingredients: Skim milk powder, active bacterial culture (L. casei, B. longum, L. bulgaricus, S. thermophilus, L. acidophilus).

Directions: Use 5 g of starter per litre (quart) of milk. 1. Heat 1 litre of milk to 180℉ (82℃) or bring to a boil. Cool to 73-77℉ (23-25℃). 2. Dissolve 5 g of starter in a small amount of the cooled milk ina cup. Pour back into the litre of milk and mix well. 3. Incubate in your yogurt maker Yogourmet II or Multi for best results) for 9 to 15 hours, or until desired firmness. 4. Refrigerate to stop the process.

Use with cow, goat or soy milk. Results with soy milk may vary.

I am so pleased! I left it in my 2 qrt. yogurt maker for approx. 8.5 hours then into the fridge overnight, and it worked perfectly! I am new at making yogurt and will order several packages in my next order.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Making Your Own Yogurt I had doubts about making my own yogurt, but had heard it would be better to begin with a starter like this, rather than just using some yogurt from the store, as it often has limited probiotics (good bacteria). I wanted to try making yogurt from raw milk (legal in my state), which is harder to get good results from than pasteurized milk, too. So, I added the culture to slightly warmed raw milk, since I didn't want to kill the naturally-occurring flora and enzymes in it, and kept it warm for about 14 hours, and then refrigerated it. It came out perfect!! I'm so thrilled with this product, I hardly know what to say! I'm going to make another batch as soon as I get my next fresh supply of milk! It should also be a snap for anyone making yogurt from pasteurized milk. I especially like that there are added probiotics that one seldom finds in commercial yogurt.

I like having more probiotics vs yogourmet's other more simple starter. It takes a lot longer to culture, but the flavor is the same and it's better for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great item I purchased a half gallon of milk heated it cooled it and added yogourmet. Placed the mix in two quart jars and 1 pint jar which i than placed in a small cooler with water at about 120degrees 6hrs later wonderful yogurt. yogurt from the pint can be used to inoculate the next batch making this box of yogourmet last even longer. Very viable I am quite happy.

This particular brand, yogourmet, makes a love thick yogurt, better than ice cream anytime of day. Add a little honey or fruit sauce for sweetener if you like. Also a terrific addition to your cereal at breakfast in place of milk.
