Ingredients: Certified organic white quinoa.

DIRECTIONS: Preparation: Wash 1 cup of quinoa in cold running water for 1–2 minutes. Place the quinoa in a saucepan with 1½ cups water and a pinch of sea salt. Bring the water to a boil, cover, reduce heat, and cook 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let the quinoa rest, covered, for another 10 minutes. Makes about 3 cups cooked quinoa. Note: For richer flavor, toast quinoa in a dry skillet with a pinch of sea salt for a few minutes before cooking. During the toasting process, stir the quinoa continuously to ensure that the quinoa is toasted evenly and does not burn.

WARNING: The seeds have a natural coating of saponins which can lead to irritation in the stomach. Thoroughly rinse quinoa for 1–2 minutes under cold running water before cooking to remove saponins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Quinoa This was really good tasting quinoa. A hint...DON'T skip the rinsing stage with ANY quinoa. It's got a bitter coating that really taints the flavor when not rinsed thoroughly. Quinoa is technically a high protein seed and not a grain so perfect for gluten free diets. You can cook it in water, or chicken broth but I found it very tasty when I cooked it in unsweetened cashew milk. Yum!
