100% Certified Organic Pea Protein Powder Non-GMO
Good & Easy Protein Source
Those of us older than dirt need more protein than we once did. For near-vegans, this can be a little challenge. This protein powder doesn't have the dreaded almost ubiquitous lactose, nor gluten, nor rice with its arsenic. It's super easy to use. I like peas, a lot, but don't like everything I eat to taste like pea soup, which it does with this powder mix. But, it's a good product, for a good price, and worth working into the diet.

I was a little skeptical about pea protein since I hate the taste of peas but this is actually pretty good! I mix it with some chilled water, vanilla drops, powdered stevia (NOW Foods), Maca root powder (Swanson), and a pinch of Himalayan Crystal salt (Swanson) and it tastes just fine. It's a bit bland on it's own. I usually use this as a supplemental protein since it isn't a complete protein (not sure how important that is). I like to add a scoop of this to another vegetarian protein powder (MRM Veggie protein).

Gives you a good protein that satisfies hunger. I mix it with organic fruit and a little stevia and it is great.

This is the best protein I found in the market. It is great for any healthy shake.

Great Post Workout Drink
If you have a slight lactose intolerance problem like me, then you probably are looking for other sources of protein besides whey protein after working out. As I've seen others point out, drinking this protein powder down as is would be awful. Just like any other plain supplement drink out there, this one needs a little love :) I highly recommend using stevia (to taste), a tsp of cinnamon and a hint of vanilla almond milk when making this. Also, I've found if you add 1/2 hot water first and stir for 20-30 seconds it dissolves the powder so you don't have clumps floating around. Though the powder will settle down in the bottom of the glass if it isn't drunk rather fast.
Overall, I definitely recommend this as this is organic and, in today's society, you never know what you are eating when you purchase something outside the non-GMO / organic range.

great for smoothies
This is gentle for the digestive tract. Great price and good quality. Have been buying for over a year.

Absolutely Awful taste
I have tried many different protein products and this by far is the worst tasting protein I have ever had!!! I like peas but have yet to find anything that can disguise the horrible taste. I am stuck with an unopened jug and 1 that I will have to throw away!
I really don't know how anyone can drink this????
Do not buy this.

Good Source of Veg-based Protein
This is a good source of vegetable-based protein offering a healthier alternative to processed protein sources.. I really like the fact that it's certified organic AND non-GMO. The Swanson price and great delivery make it an even better purchase. I add this to my smoothies and it blends well.

Satisfying, Quick and Easy
Swanson Pea Protein is a quick easy breakfast before my exercise in the mornings. Also a snack in the evenings combined with some cocoa for a satisfying and healthy chocolate fix.

tastes awful, I need to find a recipe that will disguise the taste. I will not buy again.

I have been drinking diet supplements for quite some time now and I can't believe people are trying to drink this great source of protein and essential nutrients straight up! Good gosh people, mix it with whatever you like and it becomes palatable. One of the best attributes of pea powder is it's ease of digestion. It's quite worth the effort to mask the bitterness.
P.S. I'm glad I found this website! Saving me quite a few bucks.

Great Protein Powder
Mixes well with just about anything as the flavor is not strong; I generally mix it in with my morning green tea and almond milk with a bit of honey to get my protein without having to eat breakfast.

Happy with this product.
I mix this with my regular protein drink on days I workout, which is about five days a week. I find I am less inclined to nap when I get home after my morning three hour swim, on the days I use this. I like that it adds more protein, without a lot more calories. Also, I like the many other benefits pea protein offers over other kinds of protein. It does not taste good, I will admit, but disguised with my other organic chocolate protein drink, plus a little added stevia and chocolate it is fine. I mix it in milk. I do not get hungry for quite awhile after drinking this. I think it would be fine in smoothies also. The price was pretty good.

Swanson's Organic Pea Protein
Okay, this IS a good source of vegetarian protein, and is a good value at BOGO. Having said that, the flavor is on the horrid side, and I LOVE peas. The smell is also not to my liking. Granted, I don't want any added sugars or artificial flavorings in anything that I consume, but still. Just add this to something that has flavor to hide it's taste.

Yummy and creamy
We add this to our nutribullets (aka smoothies), and it really makes them creamy smooth. It almost gives a malted flavor. We haven't tried it by itself though. We love the fact that its organic, non GMO, in addition to catching as a BOGO! It offers 15 g of protein per serving, and its healthy vegan protein.

Best Pea Protein
We love this pea protein! When on sale, it's an excellent value. It mixes/dissolves quickly without those gritty lumps of the other brands (especially works well in a shaker cup). Very mild tasting ... Mix it with lemon water and stevia ... or add it to an almond milk and berry smoothie. I'm vegan, hubby isn't, but we both love this for a protein source before or after our workouts.

great alternative to whey
I've tried all sorts of whey proteins (including Isopure, GNC, etc# but could not digest it well before, during or after workouts. So I switched to plant-based proteins to supplement my protein-intake... and this pea protein powder is the only protein powder I can easily digest. I started with half-scoops at a time to make sure it digested well - and it did..and no gas-sy feeling either.
My recipe to make taste better: blend almonds #or another tasty nut) to a powder and add the pea protein & big table spoon of Organic HONEY.... for a simple & tasty protein drink.

Not my favorite
I am on crusade to find a protein powder that works best for me. My understanding is that pea protein is made from yellow split peas. Quite honestly I love yellow split pea soup (homemade) in the winter and would eat that before I would buy the pea protein powder again. It's all about the flavor. I don't mind the somewhat gritty texture but have a hard time with the flavor. I got this product on a BOGO so I finished one container and returned the other. I am glad I tried it but will keep looking for a tastier protein booster!

I need protein, so i am always looking for new options. Was really happy and even shared with friends so they could taste and see for themselves and purchase.

A Nice Protein Alternative
This organic, non-GMO product seems to have a better taste and texture than a pea protein product that I tried before. I have been pleasantly surprised by it and am using it in a morning health drink. I like that it is organic, too.

Taste...no but Value is second to very few!
Mix this with other foods to add protein and balance to the meal.
Try adding to oatmeal w/stevia, blueberries, banana's, strawberries...etc and organic nuts. The taste is all but gone and you enjoy the health benefits.

Well, here's my thoughts.....
This stuff has a lot of potential; but be warned, pea protein can be bitter. If you do not like the taste of peas, then read no further, you will get that here; this IS pea protein after all.
First let me address the most glaring problem that many people might run into: taste. This stuff is made from peas, and the chemicals found within it that give peas their flavor may be important, as far as nutrition is concerned.
For the sake of those who are wondering if this stuff is palatable, as I am typing this review, I am chewing on a spoon-full of this pea protein powder STRAIGHT. Yes, it is bitter, and has an obvious pea flavor, and with a slight saltiness as well, but I am not overwhelmed either. Maybe I'm just weird.
Now as I am typing this paragraph, I have mixed the pea protein powder in some expeller pressed organic apple juice. How is it? Better. A little gritty, and still somewhat bitter admittedly, but not unbearable. I have finished drinking the whole cup. My thoughts currently: If you have a hard time with vegetables that are bitter, then you may find yourself at odds with this.
Here are some positives to seriously consider:
1__: This is waaaay cheaper than the organic whey protein with the buy-1-get-1 free current deal. 2__: Even though this stuff has an obvious pea flavor that you may find bitter, and can be gritty, (just great, how am I going to turn that around...), you can always mask that with mixing it with fruit juices, or maybe milk with agave nectar? 3__: This is certified organic, and certified non-genetically modified, and is a vegetable that contains precious amino-acids.
Final thoughts: If you are willing and able to try this, there may be some great benefits health-wise for you; but remember you are getting this nutrition from peas; and peas indeed you might taste.

Falls Short on Taste!
I hate to agree with the first reviewer since this product is everything you want from a health standpoint....non-GMO, organic, vegan....not to mention the BOGO! Unfortunately, it is extremely difficult to hide the awful taste no matter what you add to your smoothie...I don't think I'll be buying this again...:(

Pea Protein Powder
I am always searching for palatable, high quality protein powders. It is hard to find non-GMO vegetable protein powders. This is the first time that I tried the pea powder. The taste is absolutely VILE! The second time, I mixed it with a vanilla protein powder, vanilla extract, strawberries and yogurt. I could still barely get it down. If anyone has any suggestions, please post.
