Certified Organic Alfalfa
This is a great product, but sometimes I have trouble getting the tabs to go down, they're so big :/
Even so, I won't go with a different brand -- I trust Swanson.

Great product and cost is reasonable. Share cost values with friends and family.

Swallow with food
At age 83, I still take plenty of alfalfa, more than is recommended. I still bike, and can keep up with 40, 50, 60 and 70 year olds. I take these tablets with food, as liquids don't help the swallowing.

I was very disappointed to discover that the alfalfa is grown from genetically modified seeds, which, to date, has not been thoroughly long-term tested for health safety; although, short-term testing has somewhat been inconclusive.

Great, affordable alfalfa
Swanson's really hits it out of the park with a lot of their private-brand supplements, and this is one of them.
Alfalfa is a "desert island" supplement, so it makes sense to find a good one that's affordable. We've been taking this one for a long time, six of us in the family, to be exact, and we'll continue for as long as it's available.

To those complaining about SWALLOWING AlfalfaTabs
Those of you complaining about difficulty in swallowing the 'rough' alfalfa tablets and recommending a polished or enteric coating may want to try the following approach to using this excellent product.
The proper way to use this type of alfalfa tablet is to CHEW TO A PASTE then SWALLOW. This helps to stimulate your digestive system by forcing you to masticate the tablets thoroughly before swallowing. Your saliva and chewing are part of your digestive system..
Many people in U.S. society don't chew there food well enough and so don't digest what they eat as well as they could.
The first time you chew your alfalfa you're probably going to feel like you just ate the Sahara desert -- in other words, dryness will be the immediate response. My suggestion is to start with 1 tablet at a time. If you experience the dryness mentioned above, just keep chewing. I found that chewing in an exagerrated way -- using a very large jaw range of motion -- actually helped produce the saliva necessary to cause the tablets to form a paste and allow for easier swallowing.
Once your body becomes accustomed to thorough chewing and adequate saliva production the process got easier and faster for me as I was told it would. These days it's not uncommon for me to chew 3 or 4 at a time.
The above was recommended to me by an excellent homeopath years ago and it really made a difference. Eating a handful at a time can really give you a burst of energy.

This product is of really good quality - fresh and green. I have seen some products that were brown - but not Swanson's!

A little hard to swallow
I have been using the alfalfa tablets for about 3 weeks. They are great, I feel no side effects whatsoever. The only drawback is that they are a little hard to swallow, but totally manageable.

I like knowing that the alfalfa I buy is first cutting, whole plant product. Some stores sell what is left on the floor ( the leavin's) after all of the prime material is packaged. I trust Swanson's to sell me the best quality alfalfa.

I have been taking alfalfa supplements for many years. It seems to be the forgotten health food. It has many nutritional elements found naturally in alfalfa. However the price does keep going up (as with most things I guess).

Great alfalfa leaf product.
I studied under a master herbalist for years. She taught me to exclusively use alfalfa leaf if I wanted results. I've been very impressed with the quality and value of Swanson's products. I take this product daily.

Great Organic Alfalfa
I have been using this from Swanson's for several years now. I paid a lot more from another website and this is just as good, if not better! I am really satisfied and would have no hesitation is recommending this alfalfa at all.

I started taking this to help with my iron levels. The taste/texture is terrible, but I never have a problem donating blood anymore.

Works well, but sticks in my throat
This is a great value, and works well. However, I would prefer that it be offered in a different form. Because the pills have a very rough surface, they tend to stick in my throat. If they could have polished surface, or be offered in capsule form, they might be more effective. Then maybe the equivalent of 2-4 rough tablets could be fitted into 1-2 capsules? I would even be willing to pay a little more, per pill, so they would be easier to swallow.

A great neutralizer
I have found Swanson Alfalfa to be very effective in reducing the bad effects of my overly acidic American diet. I don't always have or take the time to put enough fresh vegetables and fruits in my diet and Swanson's Alfalfa, that I take every day, lets my not so perfect diet work.
I am glad to see an organic product a such a reasonable price.

I love alfalfa as a supplement and take several tablets daily. This product is an excellent value.

This doesn't work as well as the high priced alfalfa I've had that harvested at night when all the nutriets were in the leaves, but it works fairly well.

Get your greens here, they will love you for it.

Along with Barley, Chlorella & Spirulina, Alfalfa is a great daily food supplement to take. This product offers excellent value.
The one thing that could be improved would be to coat these tablets with a food glaze for easier swallowing.
