I bought these a few weeks ago and I just had my period today so I thought -hey, why not give it a try?- so I put it in, with a little bit of difficulty. It worked well for the whole ten hours my friend and I were out!
I highly recommend it! It worked wonders for me other that a little discomfort putting it in and taking it out!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Frankie No mess, more fun!
I had bought these almost a year ago as an alternative because I have chronic pain and getting up to change a tampon was often akin to running the mile for my body, and using the longer pads for overnight (since I was laying down) felt like diapers. I used it once or twice, then I simply forgot they were in my closet.
With recent advances in my pain medication, I'm able to get up and out more. The boyfriend doesn't have a problem with having period sex, but it's so messy that I didn't want to. I rediscovered the mostly full box of SoftCups in my closet, and thought "Well, at worst, it doesn't work or he can feel it, and we have dark towels."
I didn't even tell him until after. He felt nothing foreign, and there was no mess!
Epic Win, Softcup! You have a customer in me until menopause!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hayzel EXCELLENT product (for sensible people)!
Never straying--I tried it after I lost my Lunacup, and boy was I delighted! If I could only tell my past self a few things:
1. You will not push it back far enough on your first try and you'll blame the manufacturer or the cup. Wrong. You're at fault for not going in deep enough--it'll kinda jump into place once you get it past the pelvic bone. Confused? Watch instructional video again.
2. You don't need to use a new one each day and fill the ocean with more plastic. The manufacturers don't [yet] have FDA approval for long term use, so they can't endorse it. Methinks if you keep it clean, don't abrase the surface or cut the lining, you will probably be fine. This is only a hypothesis, but it's worked so far.
3. You may forget you're menstruating and forget about the cup. Don't. Overfill WILL leak, and just as you don't want old menstrual blood sitting in your panties, you don't want old menstrual blood sitting inside you.
4. If you're an omnivore, you'll have a stronger menstrual residue and scent that's harder to eliminate from your cup. You will only notice this after you go vegan and see the difference, and you'll be delighted!
*PROTIP: Want mess-free (or less mess) bathroom experience? You don't have to entirely remove it and get your hands bloody to empty; just get an inch of it tilted out and physics will do the rest.*
Summary: If you want to feel odor-confident and leak-free during you monthly flow, using this product (CORRECTLY) will work wonderfully for almost all average, fully developed (over 15 or 16 years old), pre-birth vaginas.
I cannot sing its praises enough.

I was skeptical, sounded like there would be a saran wrapped ring in the hooha. How could that possibly work?
Well....not only did it work, I described it to my partner whose response was "lets try". No leaks at all...Im seeing my "friend" as not such a nuisance.

For added protection can I also wear a tampon? Will this cause any infection?

I tried this product a couple years ago, but couldn't get it to stay correctly and gave up, having been frustrated by leaks and concluding that they were unreliable. Recently, since I still had a whole box, I decided to give them another shot. I read the instructions more thoroughly and was patient in making sure I could put it in and take it out correctly, and haven't had an incident since. Now I love the ease of use, and am much more confident about leaving it in longer. These are a great idea, and no more fear of TSS!!!

I tried this on a whim, was previously a nuva ring user so the insertion is very similar. I feel like I have less cramps than usual, and I feel like I am cleaner and healthier than using tampons. My only problem is when I remove it it hurts a tad, like it really is hooked on your cervix. I'm sure a little practice will get rid of that problem. Never have had any leakage, but on the first two heavy days I changed at 6 hours didn't try pushing it to 12! Worth a try and very cost effective!

Not so much of a review but would it be possible to make it smaller? No matter how far I insert it, I always seem to feel it. I love the concept of this cup but find it very uncomfortable.

Worst product I ever bought to deal with my period. I bought this product three days ago in hopes that it would help me manage the onslaught of non stop bleeding I have while waiting for my Depo shot to take effect. I'm not even bleeding heavy and yet I had instant leaking this morning upon waking after only having it in for 6hours and upon removal there being barely any blood. Removal is beyond messy and I would dread having to do this in public if ever needed. Sex yeah not even comfortable. Not only could me and my partner feel it I had so much pain cause he is not small and it kept moving. No matter how many times I tried to remove and reinsert it never felt like it was in far enough even though I know it was. I would rather take my chances with tampons, even on super light days when they are more uncomfortable, at least I know I won't be ruining another new pair of panties or having an embarrassing moment in public.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Melissa Will never buy any other sanitary products again
I have been using the softcups since my last child was born, 18 years ago. I will never use any other sanitary product (If I can) again. The biggest seller for me is you can almost forget you are on your period after you get past the first few heavy days. And even on the heavy days you get no odor or smells you get with pads or tampons. you just empty the cup, wash your hands and move on with your day. Best product EVER!!!!

Hi good day.. So happy i bupped into this website. I am a nurse, working here in riyadh, ksa,, sadly been using sanitary pads from the beginning... And i am not really comfortable having heavy menses and wearing white at the same time... So glad to have known your product.. i really want to try it... BUT it is not available here in Riyadh, i know it will be very helpful for us nurses not to worry about ruining our whites while on a 12 hour duty and having to go to the toilet to change pads or tampons during a busy shift where going to the toilet is considered privilege... So please make your product available here and all over the world... And make every women know about it... Because I was dumbfounded having to discover your amazing product so late.... Please please make it available here in riyadh... It will be a life changer ... Thank you so much...

Rated 2 out of 5 by Erin Great! In theory.
I've been using this product for about four months in tandem with tampons and I love that it's safe, easy to use, and allows me to have sex during my period. Unfortunately, it's too big. It will not fit where it should and is constantly slipping down so I can only use it during light flow days and only at night. My husband can feel it and has to be careful during sex. In short, please make a smaller size!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lele DISGUSTING!
I tried these after hearing a friend rave about them and after reading reviews on how great they are. WOW these are disgusting! They are so messy and just unsanitary. When you remove it you will have a horrific mess! You can't just dispose of the used cup without first emptying it, which creates a mess too. Not only that but it didn't contain leaks at all. I leaked consistently and I placed it according to directions and I tried them for two entire periods and still had no luck. If I didn't dispose of my receipt I would be getting a refund. The only plus is you can have sex while inserted. Honestly, sex isn't that important. Sorry ladies but this is way too gross for me.

No oder, can use during sex, I'm able to monitor to see if I have clots etc and my favorite is that I don't dry out like tampons dry you out.

So thrilled with the Softcup! I only wish that I discovered it many years ago as it would have saved the aggravation of using tampons and pads on so many vacations and just the "ick" factor of them in general.
The first cycle I used the Softcup it was definitely trial and error...especially dumping the fluid, which can seem like a crime scene. Best two tips I read were insert back and DOWN and when removing, tilt it UP so the fluid doesn't spill on you. Only thing I'm still grappling with is if I were out, how would I deal with the removal?? But I just typically reinsert before going anyplace. This product will totally change your period! I just am so amazed with it! Although there is a lot of blood, it doesn't seem like the same blood that gets on tampons and pads as there's no odor. For me, although I'm not fond of the insertion/removal, the blood doesn't bother me anymore it just doesn't seem so gross.
Overall, if you're not afraid to get up close and personal with yourself, this product is incredible! I love it, although not for the faint of heart!

I have been using this product for about ten years now, since it was launched in the Netherlands, and I don't want anything else anymore. Too bad they don't sell it in the Netherlands anymore, so I have to figure another way out to buy it. I hope this product will stay till my last period and even after that.
Tampons didn't work out for me and pads only made me feel gross, so this is a great solution. Not only can it stays in for hours, it even makes menstrual pains less. I can do whatever I want, feel good about it and have no insecurities at all!
About the messy removal: you get used to it and will figure out how to remove it the best way, having the less mess. I did had some problems with removing it, but than I found out, if you press a little bit, it comes out easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mommimac4 exceeded my expectations!
I went to the store in search of another menstruation cup I seen on an advertisement, the didn't have them. They did however have the softcup. So I thought I would give it a try. It works great. No trouble at all inserting or removing. Was able to wear about 6-8:hours on heavy flow days. Is a little messy with removal but I use a rubber glove and throw away. Really exceeded my expectations. Already spreading the word. Will definitely keep using.

Bought these after my sister raved about the reusable cups- I was unsure if I wanted to switch..... compared to the reusable these are almost twice as wide and ring is very stiff. I could not get it in a position where it didn't leak and was uncomfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Grettle No strings=less bacteria=no funk
So I was ultra skeptical about this product, it seemed so foreign, and I assumed it would be uncomfertable and messy but I am happy to report that I was wrong on both accounts.
I have always had leaking issues with tampons because of the viscosity of my menstrual fluid, and a higher absorbancy was NOT a solution.
My irregular flow would cause me to encounter the discomfort of removing a mostly dry tampon, and the material of pantyliners and pads always ended up causing a slight skin irritation.
so in general, my period would be miserable because of dealing with an upset ph balance, and on top of feeling gross in general, thinking about how the absorbent product material creates a perfect medium for bacteria growth did not help matters.
So now with soft cup, ALL of my above stated issues are resolved, AND I HAVE THE OPTION IF INTIMACY, if i want. Sure at first it seems odd pushing it in to the proper position but its really no different than no applicator tampons in that aspect BUT IT LASTS 12 HRS. Try it out, it even says money back guarantee on the box.

Rated 4 out of 5 by cbbartelt Good product, but spillage happens
I've been using softcup and off for about 3 years. My last 2 cycles I've used the reusable cups. They are much more comfortable than a tampon or pad and contain that gross "period smell" really well. However, you don't want have to remove it in public bc you're guaranteed to some on your hands. What I have learned to do is to use the restroom around every 4 hours on a heavy flow day and bear down as if you're urinating. This emptied out the majority of the cup and prevents the spillage almost everyone's experienced. I know isn't exactly "long lasting" but it's the solution I've found to prevent having to pull the whole thing out when I'm not a home. Also, even at home washing menses out in your sink is gross so whenever possible I pull it out to empty it in the shower, it just seems easier and more sanitary to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tayhalalas No more tampons
I decided to try this product about a year ago while on vacation. I have a normal to heavy flow so traveling can be a major hassle for me when I'm on my period; so I figured why not try the cup. I LOVED it immediately! Learning to insert and take it out took a bit of practice (I recommend using a back-up pad or panty liner the first few times, just in case), but once I got the hang of it my cycles have been so easy. I can fly and travel comfortably without worrying about leaks or finding clean facilities to change a tampon in every few hours. Since I'm spending less time dealing with those issues, and more time going about my day, I hardly even notice when I'm on my cycle anymore. It works wonders for me so I recommend this to every woman I know :D

First time user so.....take this how you will. I know it says there is a learning curve but mine keeps leaking. I cannot remember the last time I woke up in the middle of the night with a mess like this....I even wore a pad just in case. I have taken it out many time to "dump" it to make sure it's not too full and I don't feel that is the case as to why it keeps leaking. I don't know but it sure is frustrating. I really want to love this product and make it work so I will probably try again next month and maybe continue after that. I really hope everyone else has a better first time experience!

I've been using this product for over a year now and I can say that this is the best feminine hygiene product that I have ever used. Not gonna lie though the first time I used it was a little hard to insert but after replacing the first one it was easy sailing after that. I couldn't feel it, it was like it wasn't even there. I wasn't freaking out anymore about if I accidentally left it in too long. When wearing it there was no smell which was fantastic. Although it is a bit messy when removing it. Overall, I would recommend to anyone this product.
