Rated 2 out of 5 by Penny Quality not what it used to be
I understand that companies do their best to keep costs down to consumers, so the consumer will continue to purchase their goods. However, I am very disappointed that Unilever hasdowngraded the quality of the Qtip. Qtip has always been better than any other swab that I've ever found. Now when I use the Qtip, I can tell that the stick is thinner, which makes it a bit more awkward to hold, and there isn't as much cotton at the end. I can feel the stick through the cotton when using it. I would prefer to have some of the cost passed onto the consumer just to have the same quality swab as before.

I've tried other cotton swabs but have always gone back to the quality of Q-Tips. In addition to using them for beauty and hygiene, they're a life saver when having to clean in small crevices as well as always being gentle. A perfect product if there ever was one!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Cricket No more Q for quality
I have no idea why this product changed to something of such poor quality. I always but Q Tip brand even though they cost more No more Any no name brand is just as good . And all those useless replies you give show how little you care or know what you are trying to sell I am 78 and have used only your brand. BUT NO MORE.

I'm not in favour of the new packaging, as it doesn't close and seal protecting the product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bob A More stick, less cotton. Why?
Steady customer for years. I noticed the current package, purchased around Oct 15, 2015, has notably less cotton than previous packages. Very disappointed in this. Why do you need to cost-cut on such trivial things?

Rated 1 out of 5 by nolongerafan I agree with the POOR quality
For over 30 years I've paid more for the quality of the Q-tip brand, but have noticed in recent months that the stick portion bends and is not as strong as it was. After reading other reviews I realized that, yeah, the quality (and quantity) of the cotton is lacking as well! Guess I will have to try store brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Cheryl Less Cotton, Flimsy Stems, No Name Brand Quality
Rating should be Less Than Poor
A longtime user and always purchased Q-Tip brand for their quality. No more. It seems over the past 2 years, quality is not a necessity with the company. Weak, flimsy stems, less cotton, cotton comes off and you are left with the stem tip scratching around your eyes when removing makeup. For this quality, why pay more for Q-Tip buy No Name. Whoever decided they could make money by cutting quality was wrong. And does writing a review even matter. These reviews are over two years old and no improvements have been made. Shameful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AnnoyedQtip Came to the site looking for ways to spot fakes!
I purchased a new box of Q-tips and was sure that they must be a fake product, I came to this site in search for a way to spot fakes but now I am just shocked.
This used to be a great product and now the shaft bends and the cotton falls apart on any task. What have you done to a brand that became the go to product?

Rated 1 out of 5 by Wilsonite Q-Tips - WHERE HAS THE QUALITY GONE?
like the others I am glad that I am not alone with my criticisms of the "new" Q-Tips.
I can make it REAL simple for your marketing-beancounter-product destroyers.
When you changed the UPC from 305215 251002 to the current 305210 420885 on the 625 ct boxes. This is when you destroyed the product that we all loved.
Revert to the old manufacturing techniques processes and amount of materials used per swab...Simple!
Want to charge more for this? I and many others are FINE with this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by sandi Q-tips NOT WHAT THEY USED TO BE!!
I just had to make my view be known.....
Throughout my purchases over 40 years, I have always preferred and insisted on buying Q-tips... over all other brands.
I've noticed since the beginning of this year...they "are not made the way they used to be"
The Q-tip bends with the slightest amount of pressure when cleaning ears or just plain use in general...rendering them worthless!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Moni Not what they used to be
Q tips used to be the best but not anymore. The sticks are just as flimsy as the no name brands. I thought I may have gotten a bad batch but after reading the other reviews, I see that I'm not the only one who is having this problem. Bring back the old Q tips!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Goldens Quality Gone Downhill!!!
I have purchased Q-tips for the past 35 years and have been satisfied with the product. However, the purchase I made recently is not the same quality! There is less cotton on the swab and the stem is not sturdy. Your change was NOT an improvement!

As others have said, a once superior product has sunk to the bottom of the barrel. For me the biggest issue is the stems bending way to easily. Ill be buying generic from now on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Frank Now equal or worse than generic brands!
What used to be the best product in the world--which I and my family have used a lifetime--has now been reduced to a product equal to or worse than generic, at twice the price. Q-tips are now made with weak, flimsy shafts, that bends at the slightest touch--with half the cotton as in the past. After a lifetime of loyalty, Unilver has managed to destroy an iconic brand that stood for quality. For now, onto product "X" until the old Q-Tips are restored.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sgran Weak stems
I've been a loyal purchaser of Q-tips. I once tried another brand that was cheaper, but the quality was bad & the lesser amount of cotton scratched my ear, I went back to Q-tips. After recently purchasing and using my swabs, the stems kept bending and I wasn't able to use them properly. I first thought it was this batch of swabs, but after reading some of the other complaints, I'm going to reassess what other swabs are available. If I'm paying more for cheap quality, what's the point of brand loyalty?

Rated 2 out of 5 by McFarR56 Q-Tips now very flimsy
I'm very disappointed in the changes made to Q-tips. When used to clean ears, they now bend easily and make it impossible to properly clean the outer ear. I've used Q-tips brand swabs for over 20 years, now I will probably have to switch to an off-brand, hoping for a more durable product.

I purchased a family pack of q-tips where label indicates package has 1000 ct swabs. The package only consisted of one 400 ct and one 500 ct boxes. what happened to remaining 100?

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ron R as bad as generics now
Recently purchased a new box and these things bend in half before you can use the second half of it. Really disappointed in a product I've been buying for 30 years. I'll be looking for another brand now, as they can't be any worse than these. Congratulations on becoming a new MBA poster child for what not to do with a successful brand.

Q-tips are the best because the generics are rough and hurt your ear. Plus, they fall apart!

I have always purchased the Q-Tip brand cotton swabs because they were stronger than plastic, but recently they have Changed. Please bring back the old version, they were so much better than what you are selling now.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Big John not like they used to be
I've been using Q-Tips all my life. I've tried the store brands, but I've always come back because the store brands were inferior. The last Q-Tips I bought seem to be just like the inferior store brands. They are as sturdy and don't hold up like they used to. I hope this is just an abhorrent batch and not a change in production.
