Excellent product! Can be added to hamburger for a one-dish meal.

Excellent product if it's cooked with less liquid and a bit shorter time.I combine it with hamburger that is fried and separated into crumbles, with the addition of canned green beans and extra cheese (a mixture of Havarti and white cheddar) all mixed together to make a one-dish meal. Use the water from the canned green beans as part of the water to cook the rice shells, and cut the total amount of water in half. Partially cook the rice shells, add the green beans and continue cooking until the beans are heated through. Drain excess liquid and add to the hamburger/cheese/cheese sauce mixture. With heat turned on low, stir until all cheese is blended and the one-dish meal looks ready to eat.

Just like the regular shells when boiled for 4-5 mins

My favorite-of-all-time mac and cheese is the Annie's brand white cheddar shells, but I do not like to consume white pastas or breads. I purchased two boxes of the rice shells as testers when I stumbled upon them on the Swanson's site. The first box was cooked as directed and they came out mushy, indeed, albeit extremely tasty. The second box was cooked for 5 minutes (tested at 4 minutes, at which point the noodles were al dente) and then rinsed under cool water. They came out perfectly, so I advise anyone switching to rice pasta to boil for 4 to 5 minutes and then rinse in cool water. For lunch or dinner ideas, add ground broccoli or peas and a can of tuna. Very delicious! For the yellow cheddar mac, give some ground beef or turkey a chance.

Mushy mac

I purchased this gluten free product at a local health store at a higher price. After preparing according to directions, the shells were too soft. I purchased from Swanson for a lower price and did not cook as long. The flavor is good but I did not enjoy the texture. Both times the shells were too soft and mushy. It's a healthy product with a good taste, but I will not purchase again.
