When my family went to China in 2008, I had us all taking one bead in the morning and one at night to off-set any problems we encountered with food or water. That is to say, you have to drink bottled water, but occasionally you can make a mistake. We had no issues during the several weeks we were there, living in a apartment, shopping in local food markets, etc. Now I always take one bead a day, as does my daughter, who has a sensitivity to milk products. I did find it hard to get the little gels out of the package since they are small and in a bubble pack. Would not buy again just for that reason. Am trying another brand in a bottle now.
