My two cats cannot go without these treats several times a day. They go through close to one container each day and Swnson's price for these cannot be beat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hobbescat Great cat treats
Our cat Hobbes is extreme finicky about food and snacks, but he loves Liv-A-Little freeze-dried chick treats. They are a bit pricey, especially at Whole Foods (about $12 a container). Even Amazon charges a high price for these (about $9.50 a container). But Swanson Health Products prices them around $7 per container, which is more than reasonable, since each container lasts a fairly long time. Unless you have a gluttonous cat. By the way, they are also fine for dogs.

I have been feeding my cats Halo, Purely For Pets
Liv-a-Littles treats for years. They adore the chjicken and beef flavors. The treats are wholesome and make a great reward when your cats are acting good...and even when they are acting less than good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ragdolls Watch out for carrageenan
I have been feeding my cats these protein treats for years. Recently I found myself throwing out large pieces because they turned so hard the cats could not bite through them (nor could I). Today I looked at the ingredients and noted that carrageenan is one of them. Do some research on this ingredient and you won't be giving it to your pets. I won't be feeding this expensive treat to my lovely Ragdolls anymore.

My 4 Bengal cats are crazy about this cat treat. They get their treats at bedtime. I provide healthy food for them and these fit the bill--just freeze dried chicken, no additives.

The pups love these treats, then again, they rarely turn down anything. I use the chicken variety and wish they (and all varieties) were organically raised. I don't know if these will eventually be processed in China (given the FDA approval to process chicken in China for sale in the U.S.), but once that goes into effect, I'll probably stop buying them unless the label specifically states the chicken is raised and processed in the U.S.

I've been using this product for my cat for years. In the past year, I've noticed that a much larger percentage of the chicken pieces are hard and almost boney. Maybe there is a higher precentage of cartlage or bone or other kinds of chicken that aren't the pure breast meat. The good pieces are the ones that crumble easily. My cat can get through the very hard pieces but with a lot more effort. I'm not as happy with this product as I used to be. I guess you can chalk it up to the never ending need to cut costs and improve the bottom line.
My cat still goes crazy over them but just has to put out a bit more effort to eat them. I, also have to put out more effort to try to crumble the hard pieces into his food. Some are just too hard to crumble.

This was the most overpriced dab of dried up chalk bites. Tiny container with chalk like substance, nothing like chicken. I could make my dog real chicken treats for much much less. Over 8 bucks even on sale, for 2.2 oz ? Looks and feels like chalk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ilovecats Not what they used to be
Most of the pieces are so hard or stringy (or both) that my cats will only eat perhaps 20% of the treats. Ends up being frustrating and very expensive! These used to be the best! My cats loved them. Not anymore.

I thought this was a better price and more convenient way to order this healthy treat for my kitties. I feel that they were very old and must have sat for a long time because they were very "HARD".
They are expensive and I would not order them again. Poor Quality.

My kitties--two very particular Sphynxs--absolutely go wild for this treat, more so than any other treat we have given them!
I highly recommend--it's a high quality product and it makes the kitties very happy!
Downside: Very expensive.

These are the BEST treats that I have found that my cat loves! I first found these in thrift\animal shelter for a dollar. My cat loved these, and I love my cat. We never run out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by katlady109 Buy these treats, you'll be glad that you did!!!
My cats do volunteer work with me, and one of our friends bought them these treats as a thank you gift. I found that even including the shipping, Swanson had the best price and I was able to buy 3 containers of treats for an affordable price.
The best part of all is the cats are happy!!! Way to go Swanson!!!

My cats and I do volunteer work in a nursing home. Someone gave the kitties a jar of these treats as a thank you gift, and of course they loved them. As I have some elderly and sick kitties, this product is a great appetite stimulant. Swanson had the best price including shipping. I believe there was a sale going on and I was able to purchase 3 jars for an affordable price. Way to go Swanson!!!

My 3 year old Norwegian Forest Cat really loves this Halo treat.
It never fails to attract him.
I don't often give my cat treats, but when he needs some refreshing reward like after a monthly bath, this is the treat he enjoys.

My cats are hooked on these treats. Bryan enjoys them, but Daphne could subsist on these alone. They are always asking for another couple of them. Since they are nothing but chicken protein I know that they are safe treats to give them.

even though this is a very expensive product i buy it because it is my cats favorite snack -- they would like to have it as a meal if they could. once it is delivered, the scent has arrived and my cats dance around and make an absolute pest of themselves several times a day because this is the only edible source that they want. every cat i know LOVEs this product & i've done extensive cat rescue.

My Maine Coon loves the Halo freeze dried chicken. This was the only food he was anxious to eat when he wasn't feeling well recently. I'm going to use it to teach him tricks. He'll do anything for it. On the other hand, my tabby doesn't like it, but she doesn't like treats.

One cat who loves treats will not touch these, the other cat will but not with a lot of excitement.
The dog will eat them but prefers biscuits.
I would not buy them again.

Great quality and my pets are crazy about this stuff. My only complaint is that all my pets are seniors with dental issues, and at least half of the treats in the jar are so rock-hard that no one can chew them. They only want the soft, tender pieces, and there just aren't enough of those to go around. Now I give the soft pieces to my cats for their daily treat while the dogs are outside. Then I pulverize the rest and sprinkle on top of the dogs' food, which encourages them to eat their dinner. Everybody's happy but me, since I have to do lots of extra work.
