Rated 2 out of 5 by CJThomzak NOT A PLEASENT SMELL
Sorry to say but this is NOTHING like Dr Bronner's peppermint castile soap. while yes it got me clean, i now smell like a i took myself to the car wash and got new car smell scent sprayed on me. but it's not new car smell. It got me clean but i should not still smell myself, but if I did, it should be peppermint, not my 05 Honda. Swanson blew it on this item, thank God their other house brands of supplements are worth buying..DO NOT BUY THIS, unless you want to wash your car.

I enjoy the castile soaps for their gentleness and fragrance. The peppermint of this soap was not pleasant to me or my family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by K810 You will NOT find a better castile soap!
If you like saving $$$ AND getting a top shelf product then go no further.
If, however, you are fond of wasting your hard-earned cash then by all means buy another brand & throw your $$$ away on marketing strategy & prettier packaging.
Dr. Woods will do EXACTLY what all the other brands will do for less $$$. I have used Dr, Woods for years - and I have also used the other brands - the difference is the organic label; which, if you are familiar with the US lax labeling laws is NO guarantee of that claim.
I use this for personal hygiene & household cleaning. No castile soap cuts grease very well unless you use it full strength with a lot of scrubbing. But for daily cleaning of floors, countertops (with the addition of an antibacterial essential oil such as tea tree) and such, it works wonderfully.
Do yourself a favor and try ONE bottle of Dr. Woods, I promise you, you will save $$$ AND you will get the exact same cleaning power as the other brands.

I bought this for household cleaning because we live in the woods, many spiders, snakes and critters around. It is a known fact that spiders and mice do NOT like peppermint.
I have ordered 3 bottles and have yet had the opportunity to use as a general cleaner because my grown son LOVES it. He uses as a shampoo and body wash. He also puts it in this foamer for handwashing.
One day I will remember to buy 2 or 3 and hide one for me. Until then I just continue to use the citrus scent for cleaning.

I bought the 16oz bottle about a month ago because I'm trying to switch to all-natural bath products. All I can say is "WOW"! Not only does it make me feel a fresh, pure clean, the peppermint is so INVIGORATING! I love this product!

When we stopped buying shower gels, we searched for a healthier alternative. We are very pleased with this soap. It lasts a long time. It works as a shampoo also. The smell is not overpowering either.

I use it to wash my hair and as a body wash. The smell is irresistible if you are a peppermint fan. I like Dr. Woods almond soap too, but this is my favorite. I have also used it for delicate laundry and hand washables. Now I don't want to run out so I'm going to use this size to refill the 16 oz. bottle because that one is easier to hold.

I love this castile soap. It has no harmful ingredients and Swanson has a great price. I make my own hand soap by mixing in a little glycerine and water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RandyIL Better than the competition
I bought the Peppermint Castile because of the price. It is better than competitive brands as it works as well as they do but Dr. Woods is more economical. It is very concentrated, so I diluted it with 1 part soap and 3 parts water to use as a facial and body wash. This dilution also works well as a shampoo. I also used it to clean the kitchen and bathrooms. I added about 4 oz. to 2 gallons of hot water. I washed the sinks, counters, tub and then mopped the floor with it. The pleasant aroma of peppermint is much better than the smell of chemical cleaners!

I love the freshness of peppermint, and this soap served many purposes in our home! I used it in my homemade shampoo and diluted it for hand soap and body wash. It's also excellent for household cleaning. The scent is soothing, and it's just pure, healthy clean!

I think I like this better the black soap as far as shampoo goes. The price of this stuff is unbelievable compared to that other Doctor's brand. The small bottle costs more than Dr. Wood's large bottle. Wish I bought more than 2 bottles of this stuff. I've been using it to clean my counters, bathrooms, laundry and washing my hair with it as well. I've tried everything for my flakes and this helps a lot. The only other shampoo I've used that works for my flaky scalp is Desert Essence, Tea tea oil shampoo with peppermint, but Swanson's doesn't carry the shampoo, only the conditioner, for some reason. I was thinking of adding some tea tree oil into this as well. The castile soaps reminds me of the soaps I used as a child, clean and natural, not like the soaps you buy these days that are so heavy, it makes one dizzy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cecille Better Than Bronner's
I used to purchase Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap, and for the same quantity of Dr. Woods soap, I was paying twice as much. I finally realized my folly. I gave four leaves for the quality because it is very drying to the skin....just like Dr. Bronner's soap. We also use Dr. Woods soap for washing dishes, washing laundry, etc. It is so good that it does not contain EDTA, and all those other poisonous ingredients.

If you cut this with 20% water, it makes a great natural dishwasher detergent. Just be careful to use a little bit, or else it will suds up too much and start leaking out of your dishwasher.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GoodGoddess Nicest Soap Ever
I bought this as a replacement for a more expensive and established brand of peppermint soap thinking it might not be as good. I have very sensitive skin and can only use castile soaps with natural essential oils for fragrance. This soap is so clean and fresh smelling. It rinses nicely and leaves no residue on my skin. I have had no skin irritation from this soap--I'm such a happy camper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by aWOLF05 Love it for hair washing
I love peppermint for its stimulating properties on the scalp. I dilute this with 50% purified water and squirt it on my scalp and work it through my hair. I'm not a fan of this as a body wash since I don't like that tingly feeling on my body, but works great for the scalp! I use the black soap for my face & body and it works well too! If using as shampoo, I highly recommend vinegar rinses to smooth the hair cuticle and cut that rough squeaky clean feeling castile soap can leave behind. Your hair will feel amazing! This soap smells good too, like candy cane and so economical!

I chose the peppermint liquid soap for the fragrance. I haven't tried some of Dr. Wood's other fragrances yet. It is so refreshing, it leaves me feeling squeaky clean from a shower. I trust its natural ingredients enough to use it to wash may hair with too. It is surprisingly a better price than a more well known brand. It is thicker as well, that means, I don't have to use as much for the same results. Because of the low shipping rate, I still save money on the 32oz size.

I like the peppermint soap because it's a great value and it goes far. I use it to refill all the foaming soap dispensers in my house and I also use it to make a disinfecting spray cleaner mixed with lavender soap and water. A little goes a long way and Swanson has a good price on this product.
