Discover a New Dimension in Weight Management: Multi-Patented, Triple-Action Synetrim® CQ Cissus Quadrangularis

SWANSON: The CQ in Synetrim® CQ stands for the herb Cissus quadrangularis. What can you tell us about this herb and how Synetrim® CQ differs from other Cissus products?

Lee Swanson, President of Swanson Health Products®

Lee Swanson

Dr. Abedon: Cissus quadrangularis (also called Veld Grape) is a botanical that is a member of the grape family. Cissus has a long history of human consumption for both culinary and medicinal purposes in its native India and West Africa. Synetrim® CQ is a standardized extract of Cissus quadrangularis. It is extracted in a proprietary, water-based process that differs from processes used for other Cissus ingredients. Because of this, Synetrim® CQ possesses unique weight management and metabolic wellness properties. In fact, Synetrim® CQ is the only Cissus that is patented for weight loss. The other Cissus ingredients are marketed primarily for bone health.

SWANSON: You've completed a number of published clinical trials on Synetrim® CQ. Tell us about the results of this research.

Dr. Abedon: Synetrim® CQ's weight management benefits were demonstrated in two human clinical trials. In a 6-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial involving 64 subjects, participants taking 150 mg of Synetrim® CQ twice daily before meals lost an average of 10.5 pounds while the placebo group actually gained weight. This trial was followed by a 10-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial in which 48 subjects utilized a similar dosage protocol. In the longer study, consumption of Synetrim® CQ resulted in an average loss of 19.2 pounds in subjects which was accompanied by a 14.6% drop in body fat and a 3.4 inch reduction in waist size.

SWANSON: There are many reasons people struggle with their weight. Some weight gain is genetically influenced; some is due to emotional eating; some is due to just poor lifestyle choices. Where does Synetrim® CQ fit in? In other words, what type of dieter will benefit most from Synetrim® CQ?

Dr. Abedon: Most consumers would benefit from Synetrim® CQ because it possesses a novel, triple action dietary fat and carb blocking mechanism of action. Synetrim® CQ may help block the digestion of dietary fat, starch, and starch-derived sugar by inhibiting three digestive enzymes (lipase, alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase) that break down these nutrients. Plus, many people develop mood-related issues when trying to lose weight, which can lead to mood-induced snacking and overeating. Synetrim® CQ has a mood-enhancing mechanism of action that helps provide resistance to mood-induced overeating and emotional eating.

SWANSON: Thank you, Dr. Abedon. Your company is again on the cutting edge with this incredible, unique Cissus quadrangularis extract. I'm confident our Swanson customers will find success in their weight-management efforts when they add Synetrim® CQ to their supplement regimen.

Dr. Abedon: Thank you, Lee, for helping us share our scientifically advanced products with your customers. We are very confident in the health benefits of Synetrim® CQ. As we enter the "swimsuit season" I'm sure your customers will look to Swanson for the best weight-control formulas.
