INGREDIENT: Whole Golden Flaxseed.

To ground into meal, simply put a few tablespoons of flaxseeds into a small electric grinder. Grind for about 30 seconds, or until the seeds become a fine meal. Add to smoothies, breads, crackers, cookies, hot cereal, yogurt, salads and pilafs.

Manufactured in a facility that also uses tree nuts and soy.

Flaxseed has been around for a very long time! The early Greeks and Romans used to eat them like nuts! Bob's Red Mill has harnessed this ancient goodness and brings it to you to be eaten in a plethora of ways! You may eat the natural untreated seeds whole, ground into meal, or sprouted! Used in small amounts, they make a great addition and crunchy quality to muffins, waffles, pancakes, granola or cooked cereals and smoothies. Flaxseeds are also great natural allies for cholesterol control.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not "Ground," but Whole Golden Flaxseed Swanson's: Your original title to this product is "Premium Whole Ground Flaxseed," but that's not what it says on the package, which is *Golden* flaxseed instead. The photo shows that the seeds are whole, not ground, which is crucial to the use of the product. I'm mainly writing this review to get Swanson's attention. I'm sure the product is good, but I've found that for me to digest flaxseeds they have to be ground up first.... the whole seeds themselves are too small and tough for my stomach acids to break open. You could throw what you need into your coffee grinder or seed grinder and that should do the trick. Just know that many articles about flaxseed, such as the one I recently read on the Paleohacks blog, say that recipes "are based on using ground flaxseed, which, it has been suggested, offer more bioavailability of nutrients as compared to whole seeds."
