Pyridoxine (vitamin B-6) supplements assist in chemical reactions by taking the role of coenzymes in the body. This water-soluble vitamin promotes the health of the brain and central nervous system. It’s responsible for converting carbohydrates into energy and tryptophan into nicotinic acid (vitamin B-3). It assists in amino acid metabolism as well as the formation of red blood cells. Vitamin B-6 also contains the substances pyridoxal phosphate and pyridoxamine. While all forms can be used within the body, pyridoxine is the designated name for vitamin B-6. We also carry P-5-P (Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate) Coenzymated B-6 which is the metabolically active form of pyridoxine that starts working immediately in the body.
