It utilizes Ferrochel® iron, a unique form of chelated iron formulated by Albion Laboratories for maximum absorption without GI upset. Studies have shown that this special form of iron is both better tolerated and more readily absorbed than ferrous sulfate, which is often used in other iron supplements.

love hate relationship Let me preface my comment by stating TwinLab products are of excellent quality and it is my preferred brand. They are manufactured in Utah, which is another reason I buy them. I must take iron supplements. For me, most cause nausea so this gently acting chewable form sounded ideal. They are gentle and have never caused nausea. on the other hand, I can't chew them as they taste terrible so i have to swallow the tablet whole; not an easy feat considering they are rather large and uncoated. Even swallowing whole, the aftertaste is bad. But they are effective and i doubt any iron supplement is going to taste anything other than awful so guess I'll stick with them. So if you must take iron and other brands have left you nauseated then this is a good choice, if not a tasty one. I highly recommend TwinLab products overall. April 28, 2013
