Swanson Ultra PectiPure Modified Citrus Pectin Reviews

Summary of Customer Ratings & Reviews

Customer Ratings & Reviews

PectiPure Modified Citrus Pectin 3.5 5 5 6
Put it into your Whey Protein Shake The "clumping" issue and the "salty taste" issue is irrelevant to me...since I put the MCP (1 scoop) into every whey protein shake I make...and blend it. A very good value considering the much more expensive brands for MCP, which I don't believe is fully justified since Swanson's is "PectiPure" as well. I have continually used this product; I see no reason to stop or switch to a more expensive brand. August 27, 2014
PectiPure Modified Citrus Pectin Price is the best reason to buy this particular product. I am taking it for the reasons stated in it's product description "It's believed to influence the cellular immune system by acting as a powerful natural detoxifier." A couple reviewers wrote that it has a salty taste. To me it is sour which makes sense being citrus pectin. I guess we taste things differently. The biggest problem is the clumping. I have taken this product with warm water but will have to give the hot a try. What I've found with the warm is that it works best to put the PectiPure in the glass first before adding water. I will be doing this when I use hot water. I would only recommend this product to those who are concerned with their cellular health. July 25, 2013
Clumps The most economical citrus pectin I have found. However it does not dissolve in water. It forms large clumps in cold water and smaller clumps in hot water. It does dissolve somewhat in a smoothie or whey protein, but it should be taken on an empty stomach. I will buy capsules next time. May 16, 2013
salty taste This is a reasonably priced alternative to some more expensive brands - but it is very very salty. I have seen complaints about its inability to mix with water -- but if you mix it with hot tea or any thick beverage (coconut milk for example) it is no problem.. April 14, 2012
can really taste the sodium I use a hand mixer to mix this with protein powders in coconut milk. I like that it gives the drinks a really thick shake-like consistency, but the sodium taste/aftertaste is really evident. I will probably go to the more expensive name brand because of the sodium content in the Swanson brand. April 7, 2012
