Soy allergy
This product would be perfect if not for the soybean oil. It's just enough to cause my heart palpitations and inflammation; for which I have to take benadryl.

didn't expect such a great response
I decided to take lipoic acid in combination with vitamin E (the mixed kind) and acetyl-L-Carnitine all together. I thought it would take weeks or even months before I could see any results but to my surprise within 24 hours I started seeing clear results. First the energy level was up, the same with my wife. My complexion was a lot better, just that made me really happy! I noticed that I don't get the same effect or not as strong when I take two of the three.

Best product of it's type
The cheapest stabilized R-ALA product (on a cost-per-dose basis) I could find online after looking extensively. Quality however is not lower than other products.

This supplement was recommended by my doctor, Swanson offered what I needed at an affordable price and my order shipped very quickly so I an very satisfied. The only difficulty is that the white capsule looks exactly like another item I order from Swanson so they are easily mistaken for each other.

R-ALA
I switched to R-Fraction ALA 18 months ago after using mixed ALA for five years. R-ALA is the only form found in nature and is ten times as efficient as mixed ALA in my humble opinion. ALA is the universal antioxidant that is both water and oil soluble and regenerates vitamin C and E. ALA generates the master antioxidant, glutathione, that is not readily absorbed when taken orally.

Better form of supplement
I started using ALA at the suggestion of my health care practitioner. I found that the product I purchased at the drug store without the R-fraction caused an acid stomach.
After reading another review on this site, I decided to try this R-fraction product. I don't have any trouble with it and will wait a bit longer to see if it is effective as a supplement.
