Great Product
At a doctor's recommendation, I have been using ALA for 4 years or more. It was really hard to find the 600 mg strength without going to a health food store. I even ordered this product on line through other companies, but had trouble getting the 600 mg strength, which was so expensive even on line. Then I discovered Swanson Vitamins and was amazed at the prices and products available. I immediately started ordering my ALA from Swanson and haven't looked back once.

Good product, Bad price
I'm taking 1800 mg of Swanson Ultra
Alpha Lipoic Acid per day and it dramatically changed my life for better. Unfortunately during the last year Swanson constantly rising the product's price and now almost doubled it.
I will not be able to buy it next time.

Harsh on your stomach.
I gave up on this one. Too harsh on the stomach. You get a heartburn all day. Forget it...

Not good for hypothyroid!!!
I felt sick to my stomach, metallic smelling urine, and didn't feel good in general. I looked into it because the reviews are so good. I found out why I had a bad experience taking ALA. I have hypothyroidism and ALA affects your thyroid. I stopped taking it and immediately felt normal again.

Effective
I take this daily for a curious matter that I have not read about in any other reviews. Without it, I had a musty body odor (not related to hygiene). With ALA, completely gone! Don't understand it but it works.

love it
Iam on my second bottle of this. I take it with my carbohydrates meals which is usually in the morning with my bran cereal and oatmeal. I would feel like using the bathroom some minutes after. It makes you urinate until its out of your system. Expect a funny smelling urine, just so you know and not go running to the doctor wondering why your urine stinks,its the ALA. I love it and will continue to take it.

I feel good!!
Like James Brown says in his song " I feel Good" I have been taking this for 3 months and I really feel a difference in my well being. My energy level has increased and I am sleeping better. Adding this to my diet is the only new thing I have done, so this had to have something to do with it.

This strength of 600mg has helped me to loose weight the lower 300mg did not seem to do much for me so I bought this to try it and it has helped.

Swanson Qualty...
I had a good feeling about this product when I first found it and it seems to be fulfilling it's claims. I didn't check 'excellent' across the board because I've only just started the dosage but I have felt better within the last month and I'm certain that the one 4 leaves will evolve into five. Oh, and Swanson is the most reasonably priced dot com on the net (believe me, I've checked them all).

ALA is one of those products I could have easily missed out on.
I read about it on this web site and decided to give it a try.
There's no doubt in my mind it has given me an energy boost, nothing jittery, but something that I miss if I stop taking it.
For the cost and convenience of purchasing it from Swanson, I won't be without this one.
Its a winner in my books.

Good but...
I use it and like it and so does my girlfriend. I'm 63, and work in a job that makes lads in their 20's want to run. what can I say? Overall seems to help other supplements that aid in tissue building and strength and skin durability.
Unfortunately--here's the but...
I eat such things as habinero and ghost peppers with impunity, but this stuff irritates my stomach.
Probably a personal genetic trait, and I'm not giving it up, but be warned.
I tend to spread the word, my GF has had me order more for her, so it gets two votes.

Alpha Lipoic Acid Works
I don't totally understand how it works, but I can tell you that this is one of those supplements I take that I can tell a difference in the way I feel. Not all supplements give a "feeling", so I think I would say that I have more vigor and vitality than without it. What I have read is that it is an antioxidant that facilitates the assimilation of vitamins C & E, and assists metabolism. I like it that Swanson has so many products known for their potency and purity as well as their most reasonable prices. Yes, I would definitely recommend this to my friends!
