100% Pure Magnesium Citrate Powder
Swanson Premium 100% Pure Magnesium Citrate Powder
How wonderful to finally find pure magnesium citrate powder without all the fillers! And I don't even have to open capsules in order to mix it with my juice or milk. Saves a lot of time!

Unfortunately this doesn't dissolve in water, the only way to take it is to put it in a smoothie. I prefer to have it in water and sip on it throughout the day but this just sits on the bottom of my water bottle. I hope they fix this because it is really good value.

I like powdered products to add to my green drink in the mornings. This is an easy way to get in my magnesium.

Sorry cannot recommend this
I have used and liked this product previously but this batch is awful. Will not dissolve and is gritty like glass particles in the bottom of the cup. Also the good taste is now gone and it tastes like chalk. Am returning the two I just purchased. Sorry Swansons, this is not good.

As soon as the powder hits water, it turns to glue at the bottom of your cup. Try to mix it with a spoon - and you'll end up scraping hard your spoon to take this stuff off it. Tried cold, warm and hot water with the same results. Absolutely not acceptable. Returning. P.S. Customer service rep on phone was very nice and helpful.

Not as it was.....taffy consistency now
I agree with the other reviewer that stated it was like glue. I have been buying this very product for about a year, and it had always been great. This last batch from about 2 months ago is different. I heard they might have changed suppliers, but the label does not indicate anything different. It does not dissolve well but is like taffy at the bottom, not to mention it is not tart anymore, instead it takes the taste away from the drink and makes it hard to drink. I cannot recommend this to anyone! But, NOW Foods has a magnesium citrate powder that is a good deal from Swanson and is good. It tastes and mixes like this one USED to do. I do recommend the NOW version.

the bottle was bad
I have bought this twice - the first bottle was okay - not spectacular but accepable.
The second bottles of both the Mg Citrate and the Calcium Citrate are not. Back to NOW brand for me.

Magnesium Citrate - Swanson brand
I highly recommend magnesium citrate and the Swanson brand is just what I was looking for. After reading information by Russell Blaylock about the possible benefits of magnesium citrate I was moved to purchase this product. I find it to be of excellent quality and a fantastic bargain.

Swanson magnesium powder
This product is a waste of money. I gave it a try to keep my order all Swanson products. It is not usable. The powder does not dissolve no matter what I try. I have ordered the brand name powder at retail stores and here from Swanson. Never had a problem. Use the good stuff from the start, not this product!

good product - useless label
This is a good product with a good price. It is nice to use as the powder does not clump. The label is pretty useless, however, because it does not tell you how much is in a tablespoon, teaspoon, or anything realistic. The product comes with a little plastic scoop inside. The label says, '1 scoop 3.9 G' Come on. Who would take that much at once ? I'm sure there would be a little diarrhea problem for most people. And the body can only absorb 400 mg or so at once, depending on the form of magnesium, so you should take smaller doses more often if you want to load up. Nowhere does it say how a scoop relates to a common measure, so I had to get into the messy business of pouring from the scoop into measuring spoons to determine that 1 scoop is about 1 heaping teaspoon. The label also says, 'amount per serving 630 mg'. OK. So what measure am I supposed to use to get that ? It is not like I could eyeball the scoop. That would be a little over 1/6th of a scoop. The labeling makes me think this product was slapped together with little thought for the customer.

Feloo reviewer (almost) said it all
Several buys of this product reveal the POOR quality control of this Swanson product. If, per the label, it is "%100 Pure: then it should dissolve completely in water, and leave no "taffy" sediment on the glass bottom, to quote my fellow reviewer. Other batches I bought had a pleasant citric taste, this latest batch does not. Again, this poor quality control, and I don't what I'm getting. As for the "Swanson product specialist" my fellow reviewer quoted, about stomach acid dissolving the sediment, NOT GOOD ENUF! I have low stomach acid and that is why I buy a WATER-SOLUABLE mineral.

A nice drink
I understand that women are more likely to be magnesium deficient than men. I enjoy this in a large drink w/stevia (Now Better Stevia Glycerite, alcohol free) and a scoop of Swanson AjiPure and a scoop of Swanson Vitamin C. I also throw in herbal teas, a splash of fresh lemon juice and any of my supplements that I can break open. Wella! I have myself a very tasty drink every day of about 24-32 oz.

Useless for me
I had hoped to be able to dissolve this into a drink to ingest but it sure doesn't work like that!

Variable quality among lots
I just received my third order of this product over a period of less than 1 year, and have noticed variable chemical properties among each of the three orders. First order dissolved well in a glass of water and was slightly tart tasting; second order dissolved differently, where the dry powder sat on the water surface until I stirred, and the taste was less tart. The last order has a completely different profile; dissolves quickly, but then forms a thick, taffy-like layer on the bottom of the glass. Physically scraping it out takes some effort. Taste is more neutral.
After noticing the taffy layer from the last order, I contacted a Swanson product specialist and explained the variability issue. He said it was a matter of different machinery used by different suppliers, which affected particle size and thus, solubility. He instructed me to quickly consume the drink immediately after mixing, before it has time to congeal, and even if there are clumps remaining, they will be dissolved by stomach acid. Even after quick mixing, there are solid flakes that are swallowed, and some have been lodged in my teeth.

Can't Recommend This
Maybe this works for some folks, but my husband and I found that this did not mix up properly for us. We both ended up with a chewy glob at the bottom of our glass. Sorry we can't recommend this and give it more leaves, but I returned it for a refund. However, Swanson does sell the NOW brand of magnesium powder which my husband is very happy with. Magnesium is a very important mineral that our bodies need.

Really Like It!
I recently switched from a capsule to magnesium powder and have found this works better for me. I take it just before bed time with a hint of a protien snack and sleep like a baby!

Really Great Product!
My products were shipped fast, I had great service, and I love the products. I feel so much better after taking the magnesium powder. I take it at night before bed and sleep well. I have recommended this product to several friends.

This is a good and easy way to take magnesium. I put it in my smoothies everyday.

This is an easy way of taking Mg. Just mix in water or juice
July 18, 2012
I use it to mix in drinks for my 12 year old who does not like to take supplements - so I mix it in lemonade and it does not make it taste much different

I've taken quite a few magnesium products, mostly pill form. This mixes with a glass of water, and I immediately feel calmer and relaxed, almost buzzed. Helps me sleep and I'm sure doesn't hurt the regularity. I also take Swanson Probiotics at bed time. Highly recommended. Craving chocolate could very well be a Mg deficiency. Mg is important in calcium absorption and utilization.

Not impressed, 3 strikes your out
I was not impressed with this product from the start. I opened the container to find it less than half full, yes I know about settling, but really more than half the container, this is a waste. Bigger container & more waste filling our landfills, strike 1. I make capsules and have been for several years so I know how much it takes to get what I need. With this product it now takes almost double the capsules to get the same amount of mgs that I was getting from my old powder. This means more time & capsules to get the same amount. Not cost effective, strike 2. Then in the end I ended up with less capsules then my old brand & yes they are both the same size containers 8oz. I usually get 420-425 capsules, with this product I only got 350 capsules, now I have to spend more money to get the same amount of product, strike 3. Nope I will not buy this product again, lesson learned.

Unlike many supplements where I have to assume that something good is happening to my body, I feel the good with Magnesium Citrate Powder - in two main areas: my muscles and therefore my emotions and personality feel more relaxed, and two, it seems to relax the digestive tract a little... About a half-hour after taking it, I can feel the effects (in both ways). I take only half the dose (a full scoop) at a time - half-scoop in morning with food, and another half-scoop in the evening with dinner. The only difficulty with it is that it is in powder form and has to be mixed with water. If you mix and drink immediately it'll deliver a strong tart citrus-y taste. To avoid that just dump the scoop in the water and let it sit for about 2 minutes. The tart taste will fizz out and be gone.
