Energy but hurt my stomach
They gave me a lot of energy. I get up very early and these almost negated the need for coffee. I loved how energized I felt.
But they also really bothered my stomach. It would hurt well into the evening and I felt miserable. I finally stopped taking them.

Recommend strongly with qualifications
Have taken this suppliment for years. This brand was reviewed by consumer labs and reassured me that I was getting what I paid for without any contaminents! The tablets are extremely hydrophilic, so keep them in the bottle and away from water (bathroom steam/ kitchen tea kettle).

My nutritionist recommended this. It seems to have some effect but the jury is still out. However, the value can't be beat anywhere!

L-Carnitine from Swanson met goals
L-Carnitine at 500mg/capsule from Swanson allows me to readily measure out the amount of L-Carnitine I wish to use and meets my goals for the expected results. I anticipate reordering to continue my plans for the supplement.
I appreciated that the bottle came well filled as is sometimes not the case and you get large bottles with very few capsules or pills. Such large bottles take up shelf space but are quickly emptied.

If improve the capsule
I switched to SW brand due to save the cost from popular vitamin brand one.
Effectiveness is not sure but capsule will be damage after opened the bottle in a few months.
As normally kept in dried not sunshine spots such as a drawers but it always happened. I hope SW will improve the capsules.

L-Carnitine at a great price
L-Carnitine is a great amino acid for fat burning. Some reports in the literature at increasing testosterone receptors sites. I did not notice much.

Energy Booster!
I run avidly and when I started taking L-Carnatine I noticed I had more energy. When I would get to the end of my run I still had energy to turn on the intensity and sprint it out! Also noticed some improvements in my skin and fat reduction around the waistline. Only draw back is that the pill deteriorates if left out in the open. Take immediately after taking out of the bottle or make sure to put in some sort of airtight container if taking with you for later consumption.

Good Product
Helps in appetite control. Not a miracle pill but there is no such thing. With proper disapline this product will help with weight loss.

Isuue is that when tablets are removed from container and placed in my pill dispenser the tablets begin to pulverize, get soft and mushy and break-up.

Getting past Plateau?
Started using this product after a long weight loss effort and hitting a plateau. Noticed increase energy which help keep the work outs going, going stronger and longer. In the end I pushed past the plateau. I did use a larger dose as most of what I read said 1000-2000mgs per day for weight loss. It also mentioned not to take after 3pm as it could upset your sleep, I didn't seem to have any sleep issues, but took my early morning and afternoon.

read the label's Fine Print!
I didn't read it, about keeping in its own bottle, and put them in with my other supplements in my 7-day pill case. After 3 days they are MUSH, never seen anything like it. Our dew point's been between 58 and 68, but AC's been on, nothing else is affected. Now the bottle's in the fridge, where I'll likely forget it.

Needs a better tablet coating
I'm sure the carnitine itself is just fine, but it is hygroscopic and so the tablets are kind of messed up by the time we get to the end of the bottle. It would be good if Swanson would improve the tablet coating. If you have any trouble swallowing pills, get a different form or brand.

Meh
Did not see any benefits from taking this supplement, but that's probably since my body is not L-Carnitine deficient. Did not have any problems with pills breaking down, but area I live has average humidity of about 15%. Was taking 4 pills per day which brings me up to the study recommended level to see effects.
Took these while doing workouts that burn an average of 700-800 calories per day. No improvement in fat loss.

Noticable
Yes, it breaks down fast in a moist environment, but that warning is on the container so it's not really a con. Actually it comes in handy when you want the benefit to start immediately. I don't plan my workouts too far in advance so this is fine for me, though I might add that the daily timing should not matter for long haul results. I started using at the same time as three other supplements, then stopped using them one at a time to check the effects. All the benefits were from this. It's no miracle pill but I feel it makes my healthy diet and exercise go farther

Tablet Integrity
While I have been generally satisfied with
Swanson Products, this one is below my standards, in as much as the tablet appears to absord moisture and delaminate (or break down) when left in my weekly pill boxes.
